Very disappointed in how this sale was handled

I ordered these boots in the cherry red patent design. SUCH CUTE BOOTS! The company who sold me these boots is called Elite Hero, though they were listed as being sold by Dr. Martens.
I was so stoked when I ordered these boots, and happy that I got them at a really great price. It took Elite Hero forever to ship the boots and then the boots took about a week to get to me, so overall I waited about 2 weeks before I received the boots. When I did receive them, they were super cute but I realized I had ordered the wrong size (I ordered a UK Size 8 instead of a US size 8) and contacted the seller for an exchange. It took Elite Hero about a week to respond to my request to exchange the boots - I filed a claim with Amazon because they were not responding. Elite Hero finally told me I would not be able to do an exchange with them only a return for refund, which seemed odd since I wanted to get the correct size boots from them. I settled for the refund even though I thought an exchange would be much quicker and easier. I also had to pay out of my own pocket to return the boots. They issued a refund to me before the boots had even reached their warehouse.
BUT! About a week and a half after I returned the boots, USPS delivered them back to me. ELITE HERO HAD REFUSED MY RETURN. Why? They put a note in the box stating that they had no record of an order for me and that they did not carry this style of boots in their store. I contacted them immediately. Once again, it took them forever to get back to me. I was forced to call Amazon to try to get them to send me a return label so I could once again send back the boots as I was afraid that Elite Hero would charge me again for the boots, but Amazon was unable to send me a label. Amazon was very polite and helpful but unable to really help other than by contacting Elite Hero themselves. Elite Hero finally got back to me after about 5 days of me emailing them. They asked me to ship the boots back to them again. They sent no return label as I had asked them to do. I was not going to pay out of pocket again to return the boots after their warehouse had refused them upon initial return. I just kept emailing them until FINALLY they sent me a return label with a note staying "we aren't sure why this happened or why you returned the boots in the first place." I couldn't believe that. After the tons of emails I sent them regarding the original issue of ordering the wrong size and then tons of emails regarding the boots being sent back to me they were still confused. And it isn't as though I didn't make the issues very clear for them, I was very very clear about why I needed to return the boots and in the first place and why I needed to return them again after they had been sent back to me.
In short, Elite Hero seems to be very disorganized and confused. I will not be purchasing the correct size boots from them after a month of ridiculous run-around.
