The Dr. Martens Shoreditch boot has a classic design with a retro style. This women's ankle boot has a canvas upper for a high-top sneaker appeal. A cushioned footbed adds comfort to every step, while the lace-up front lets you adjust for a perfect fit. This boot features a slip-resistant sole which provides dependable traction on slick surfaces. The Dr. Martens Shoreditch is a light weight yet durable boot sure to make passersby's take a long look.
Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

Maybe this kind of leather is harder than nappa. Looks cool and I like it needs low maintenance. Still debating if I go for broken in or size up.Published 2 days ago by Tutu Noni
I'm size 7.5 US but Dr. Martens doesn't make half sizes so I went for size 8, which was perfect. The shoes are super comfortable and I can wear them all day. Read morePublished 8 days ago by purplelover
I love these shoes so much! Great spring/fall shoes. I dress them up or down; with a blazer & a nice top with leggings or a T-shirt and jeans. Read morePublished 14 days ago by Amazon Customer
I ordered two pairs of the size 8, one in red and one in black. They both fit fine, but the red seems to run slightly larger, whereas the black is perfect!Published 21 days ago by R H Metz
I love these shoes! I tore the top of them, but it was on a very sharp piece of metal; would have cut through any given shoe. May have to purchase another pair...Published 26 days ago by CJ
