5.0 out of 5 stars Another Keeper From Christine Flynn, July 12, 2000

This review is from: Dr. Mom And The Millionaire (Prescription: Marriage) (Special Edition, 1304) (Paperback)
Chase Harrington is on his way to an important meeting in Honeygrove, Washington when his car is hit by a truck. Instead of keeping his appointment, Chase ends up in Honeygrove Hospital with a severely fractured leg.

Alexandra Larson is the harried single mother of 4-year-old Tyler and an orthopedic surgeon at Honeygrove Hospital. Her initial reaction to Chase Harrington is the same as everyone else's: he is a macho dealmaker who refuses to slow down the pace at which he conducts business just because he is flat on his back in a hospital bed. Bit by bit, however, she begins to notice that Chase's bark is much worse than his bite, a protective shell that guards more insecurities than he wants to admit. Perhaps the fact that Alexandra has a similar shell gives her a sensitivity to Chase's that few others have.

In "Dr. Mom and the Millionaire," Christine Flynn demonstrates her mastery of the short novel again. Every scene, almost every sentence, works to move the story forward and define the two attractive lovers.

Even though this is the third book of a trilogy, her introduction of characters from the two earlier books was handled expertly. I never felt as though I were on the outside looking in; their appearances were engineered naturally.

"Dr. Mom and the Millionaire" is not quite up to the standard Flynn sets with "The Baby Quilt" but it is still very good indeed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't let the title fool you, this is a good book, February 18, 2001

This is a very good contemporary romance. It has great characters, realistic plot, humorous situations, and lots of romantic tension. The title is a little silly, but the book is good!

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a winner!, February 9, 2000

This review is from: Dr. Mom And The Millionaire (Prescription: Marriage) (Special Edition, 1304) (Paperback)
The final entry in the Prescription: Marriage series, this well-written, realistic book ties up all the loose ends, and manages to keep you guessing at the same time. Definitely a keeper, and worthy of the two preceding books!
