4.0 out of 5 stars Unofficial but good.
This album was leaked and was never supposed to be released. While not as solid as some of Kool Keith's albums it's worth getting for any dedicated fan.

1.0 out of 5 stars It's a bootleg, October 11, 2004
The album is beeing bootleged by 101 Distribution, in association with Real Talk Records and 33rd Street Records. The album has already been shipped and will be in stores on October 12th it cannot be recalled. The album features 2 demos, 2 Clayborne Family tracks, and 6 INCOMPLETE tracks from the upcoming 7th Veil album. The cover of the album features Kool Keith standing in front of an Escalade, which he is not even down with. 101 Distribution, Real Talk, and 33rd Street are being sued for this release. According to Jacky Jasper, the official bootlegger is Michael Kinbrew (a.k.a. Scoobie) and his partner Damon Evans. Supposedely, these two have stolen records from Kurrupt and had false negotiation agreements with Kel of "Kenan and Kel" Nickelodeon).

3.0 out of 5 stars Kool keith - dr Octagon II, October 6, 2009
This review is from: Dr Octagon 2 (Audio CD)
The opening track is one of the finest tracks on this album it is very reminiscent of dr Doom "First Come First Served" deep acid beats, clear vocals and sharp lyrics. Granted this is one of the weaker Albums that Keith has done there are still some nice tracks like "New York City" "the original" "Lyrical Magic". It's not "ecolygist" but it is Kool keith and if your a fan this is another must from the archives.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just Say No, February 13, 2009

Man, I hate having to give Keith a bad review, truth be told he's one of my favorite mc's, top 5 in fact, but this album....eh, just say no to it. Oddly enough the biggest problem's AND the biggest strengths's are in Keith himself, Lyrically Keith is as expected, very funny, very twisted, and very talented. But thats only half of the Keith we get on this album, the other half is Kool Keith the producer....can you guess which one we're going to have a problem with here?

Now I respect ANY artist who can mc and produce, but Keith...he just cant produce, I hate to step on any toes but Keith as a producer damn near lacks talent completely. His beats are sparse but not in a good "deeper then it first appears" type of way, its sparse as in you hear it once and know right away that its not something you're ever going to listen to again. Ive read multiple times that Keith never intended for this music to be released, or whatever the excuse they cooked up for this was, but that doesn't change the fact that its bad music, if you dont want bad music released then don't make it!

Also the final nail in the coffin, this would be bad enough as a Kool Keith release, but no, they had to throw the Dr. Oct name on it, this magnifies the weaknesses 100x. It almost seems as if they're tryng as hard as possible to ruin any fond memories that we have of the classic album. Overall Keith himself rocks the mic, he's does his thing as he always does and holds it down wonderfully, the production is what absolutely murders any enjoyment to be had though, even die hard fans may want to skip this one. Dont be fooled by the titles, this is no Dr. Oct.

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. I bought this album because I was a fan of Dr. Octagynacologist. But there's not 1 song on this whole album worth listening to. I'm sry, I'm a kool keith fan... But there's a reason it was not supposed to be released! STAY AWAY!!
