5.0 out of 5 stars If you love dry black humor you'll finally get Ernest
Hardcore Ernest. Not for the Disney crowd. This Strangelovesque movie is the shoestring not that ties all other Ernest movies together. Dr Otto, the master of time and space against his High School more that adequate rival Lance Sterling pitted in a cosmic eternal battle of good & evil where Dr. Otto will always win because as we all know we eventually WILL RUN OUT OF...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Little Movie
There's not much that I can say about this picture, It's mostly Dr. Otto, hence the name, and very little Ernest. The plot involves a device that zaps all credit cards, and sends the world into a mass panic.

It's weird, fun, and because Jim Varney is so entertaining, you can't stop watching it. Pick this one up today.

If you enjoy plain old slapstick stupidity this movie is for you. I think Jim Varney was one of the greats!

This is the craziest movie I've ever seen. I loved it!! But don't expect this to be an 'Ernest' movie. This has a darker theme to it. I found Lance to be kind of a pathetic hero and I sided with poor Dr. Otto. It really wasn't his fault he was the way he was. His parents treated him horribly, even prayed that he would run away, and the kids at school made fun of him. It's no wonder he wanted revenge. Dr. Otto Von Schnick-ick-ick-ick wants to destroy the world. So, he makes cash worthless, he demagnetizes credit cards, the stock market is a mess and the government has no idea who owes who and how much they owe. The bank accounts are scrambled and no one can get their money, which causes riots to break out all over the U.S. It was said that this would be worse than the Depression of the 1920's. Varney-one of the writers-wasn't far off the mark. This movie was ahead of its time(1986). In fact, our economy today of 2011 seems to mimic what was happening in this movie: 'Economic downfall'.
My favorite thing was the 'Changing Coffin' in which Dr. Otto(who I found strangely attractive)changed into Rudd Hardtact, Laughin' Jack, Auntie Nelda and Guy Dandy. And Bill Byrge, who we all know as Bobby from other Ernest movies has a speaking role in this as the gas attendant.
The riddle was really good but I could only solve 2 parts of it.
Of course, at the end of the movie, I cracked the hugest smile when none other than 'Ernest P. Worrell' stepped out of that 'Changing Coffin'. We all know that Ernest rules!!!
