Fred Alan Wolf, Ph.D. is a theoretical physicist, lecturer, and author who was a featured scientist in the groundbreaking film, What the Bleep Do We Know? (Fox, 2004). He is author of the National Book Award-winning Taking the Quantum Leap (Perennial, 1989), as well as numerous other popular books on physics.

Fred Alan Wolf is a world-renowned physicist, writer, and lecturer who also conducts research on the relationship of quantum physics to consciousness. He is the author of 13 books, 3 audio CD courses and received the National Book Award for "Taking the Quantum Leap". He is a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Collegium of Scholars and was Professor of physics at San Diego State University for twelve years. Dr. Wolf has appeared in many nationally released films including "What the Bleep Do We Know?" and "The Secret." His latest book due out in the Spring of 2011 is "Time-Loops and Space-Twists: How God Created the Universe."
He has been interviewed on several radio and television programs including New Dimensions Radio, Western Public Radio, National Public Radio, and many others. He was the visiting scholar/scientist-in-residence in the Pacific Northwest sponsored by The Institute for Science, Technology, and Public Policy during the spring season, 1994. He has spoken numerous times before The Commonwealth Club of San Francisco, The Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, and several other prominent organizations and been interviewed on a number of television shows between the years 1995 to the present including: The Discovery Channel's The Know Zone, Sightings, The Thinking Allowed Television Series, The Malone show, The Evidence for Heaven. Star Trek IV, Special Collector's edition, The Fabric of Time, The Case for Christ's Resurrection, Down the Rabbit Hole, and the PBS series Closer to Truth.

I really enjoyed listening to Dr. Quantum discuss his ideas about soul, heaven and hell, how we create our reality, and what Quantum Physics has to do with it all. I discovered Dr. Quantum from the wonderful "What the Bleep Do We Know?" movie, and ever since then I have become interested in what he has to say (as well as what the other people in the movie have to say). I find him easy to understand and actually quite entertaining. I found myself laughing out loud at times. He really kept my attention throughout the entire presentation. In fact, I have listened to this audio book about 3 times now (I've only had it about a week), and I am taking notes! I am also researching some of the people and experiments that he mentions (i.e.: Benjamin Libet and his work on neural adequacy). I am considering purchasing his other audio presentation: A User's Guide to Your Universe.I had no prior knowledge of Quantum Physics until I watched the "What the Bleep" movie, so all this stuff is new to me. I am glad that I started my study of the mystery with Dr. Quantum as a guide.

This is a review of the audiobook. I have purchased more than a dozen fine audiobooks and this one is now number one on my list. Wolf reads his own book and some of the strait-laced may be a bit put off by a herr professor who in spots sounds like a manic comedian. And maybe a few aspects of the argument could have been more developed and the point underlined. But this is a popular introduction on how quantum physics relates, or has similarities, to a spiritual understanding of the world and as such, I think, is a spectacular success. Wolf uses metaphor, analogy and word pictures to bring his point across, signs of a good writer. He deals in profound ideas and though he may make it seem like a sleigh ride, it aint that easy to do. There is speculation here and assumptions so if you're looking for a scientific explanation of quantum physics this audiobook is not for you. Materialists and spiritualityphobes, you'll hate it! But for me, Wolf is a supremely wise old coot full of vim and vigor and joy of life. A gem.
