Review

''The media surrounds kids far too early with a sexualized world they are rarely prepared to navigate. Dr. Ruth and Pierre Lehu's good common sense advice will provide parents with the confidence and information to guide their adolescents safely and reasonably through precarious teen years.'' --Sylvia Rimm, psychologist, author of Growing Up Too Fast

''Sex expert and TV personality Westheimer presents parents with a short, useful guide to understanding the social and sexual lives of modern teenages. This book would make a fine companion to titles written specifically for young audiences.'' -- Library Journal

''Whether it's worrying about withstanding the media pressures of sexually explicit content in advertising or popular shows, Dr. Westheimer confronts them with her characteristic candor and lack of squeamishness.'' -- Education Update Online

''This book will help parents, teachers, clergy, and counselors guide teens through the maze of 'abstinence only' vs. 'do it' messages.'' -- ForeWord Magazine

''Dr. Ruth matters more today than ever before. Educating and empowering parents to reach a generation of savvy, hyper-connected teenagers in practical and meaningful ways, this book is indispensable..'' -- --Ross Martin, Senior Vice President and Head of Programming, mtvU

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for teens regarding sex, January 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dr. Ruth's Guide to Teens and Sex Today: From Social Networking to Friends With Benefits (Paperback)
I purchased this book for 13 year-old niece and I really have a lot of respect for Dr. Ruth. The book is very informative and it is easy to understand. I'm not telling my niece to go out and have sex and I pray that she hold on to her virginity as longs as she can, but I feel confident that when she is ready she will understand the facts and fiction about sex. This is book should be every household.
