My sister and brother had weddings about a month apart. The first wedding my ankles were torn up by the rental shoes. My uncle recommended these so I grabbed some. The next wedding I didn't notice the pads with the shoes on and my ankles were very happy. They are basically like a thick (1 mm or so) second skin.

I love moleskin for those new hiking boots or extra padding where shoes rub. I thought that this would be the thick moleskin, but this is the thin kind. Still does the job.
