Learn Basic Mouse Movement--Then Rush to Buy This!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dr. Seuss ABC (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
Without a doubt, this is one of the best younger-child software programs I have purchased. As another reviewer notes, your child first needs to get comfortable with basic mouse movement first, and I agree that the Reader Rabbit Playtime for Baby & Toddler is a good starter program since it doesn't require the child to know how to click. For your child to really appreciate and explore the Dr. Seuss ABC program, he/she must be ready to learn how to click the mouse button. Provided that's the case, your child will be amazed! Our little girl (age 2 years, 9 months) has been dazzled for several months now. I'll definitely be buying more of the Learning Company titles.Speaking of the mouse, I would recommend that you consider purchasing an optical mouse for your child. They currently cost about $[money] and are worth the investment. When I moved our daughter to one of these, her interaction with the mouse improved dramatically. For your information, the optical mouse has no moving parts (no mouse ball/roller on bottom) and is MUCH easier for anyone to move and control--especially children. I've been especially pleased with the Logitech two-button optical mouse. We have one on each of our computers.

Super Fun!,

My two little boys (2 and 4) both love this! It's their first computer software, and the program works well for both of them. I select "Read to Me" for my 2-year-old, who can't yet manage the mouse. He now recognizes every letter of the alphabet in upper and lower case, and has portions of the story memorized. For my four-year-old, I select "Let Me Play" and he can use the mouse to play along as the story is read, clicking on anything on the screen to find out what happens. This is great for learning to use a mouse - he never used it before this, and it was rough at first ("Mom! Click this! Mom! Click that!"), but after a little practice, he is now completely independent and can click his way through the story all on his own. Both children love it and there's always lots and lots of laughter when they use it. They particularly like the silly face the Fiffer-Feffer-Feff makes. Very entertaining and educational - Definitely recommended!

Dr. Suess in Motion! Great!!!,

This is a fantastic program. My son who is two loves it. The letters come alive in a cute and entertaining way. IF your child wants to explore more and clicks on letters or words or pictures each one does something new and interesting. There is never any fear of boredom with this. One thought- your child needs to have mouse control and to know how to push the button on the mouse. I bought the Toddler Reader Rabbit program and this helped my son learn mouse control. In Toddler Reader Rabbit, they don't need to push the button and that makes it easier for them to learn to control the mouse first. Then move onto a game like this. Particularly if you are starting young. My son began playing this cd at 18 months. This is a fantastic CD and I'm going to get more of the Dr. Suess CD's. The illustrations and words and sounds are pure Dr. Suess like. Wonderful.
