This is a great book to read, whether you're a psych student, teacher, just someone that had the book recommended to them that has no idea about what they're about to read. It shows you why people do things the way they do, what's going on in your mind when you do certain things. (well, an aspect of things anyway). It teaches you how to feel better about yourself. I am a student planning on studying psychology in University, and I thought this was an excellent book. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer really knows what he is talking about.

This work instructs the reader on how to assert himself/herselfin a variety of important societal contexts. Do you fear authority or asking questions or challenging others when you feel that the issue merits discussion? Do you wallow in your own past actions or mistakes? The author explains how to avoid comparison traps and other forms of victimization aimed at making you feel ill at ease. Be fearful of people who invite you to join in their misery. Most importantly, the author teaches you how to stand up for your own rights, set boundaries and walk away from uncomfortable situations. Be careful of too much subservience to institutions at your own expense. At the end of the book, the author poses important situations where you can gain control instead of feeling like a victim. This book would be very helpful if you are managing people or about to do so.
