These guys really know how to express the real greatness of Black Metal!This CD is so great that not only you can enjoy their music but also a great tale of a warrior called Siegfried.A lot of melodies and ambience the makes you feel part of the tale.Also is mixed with excellent Black Metal riffs,aggression,great guitars,drums,bass and synth.Great production!

Just when you thought the black metal market was saturated, the better bands emerge. It seems to fit the death metal mold as well. Where after 5 years or so of death metal, the better bands lasted or emerged. Besides this band Kvist, Midvinter, and Suidakra are decent examples as well. But never-the-less getting back to Mystic Circle, they have enough variation to keep it interesting. Going from forte to piano and the keyboards are cool and flowing. But worry not, if this album wasn't a god damned skull crusher, I wouldn't put my good name upon it. Still plenty of thrashing drums, raspy vocals, and buzzing guitars. However, it doesn't go into nonstop lawnmower mode like Mayhem or Emperor did back in the poineer days of yore. This is one of the best conceptual CDs I've had the pleasure of listening in a long time. The molodies will drive you away, and Sigfried's story will hook you to the stereo. The transitions from Black Metal to ambience are just greate and make up for an interesting atmosphere.

A rich and complex CD, this one is a winner!

Hail the true sword of black metal!! mystic circle etches pure norwegian metal,even though they hail from Germany.a great album, good production,a overall epic landscape.the only flaw is the melodic sounds of waterfalls and chirping birds..but other than that its great.. one of the best releases in 99..i see a bright future with Mystic Circle..HAIL TRUE BLACK METAL!!!!!!
