Like many of the other books in this series, this is a counting book -- and instead of the traditional "1 ball" and "2 teddy bears", the objects counted are things from Bram Stoker's Dracula. Cute idea, cute art, and while it mostly lives up to its potential, there were a few places where the choices were a little odd. It can be a little confusing trying to explain to a young child that yes, a picture of a gramophone counts as a letter just like all the envelopes do. It's bit of a letdown that the books goes all Dracula, but for the page of coffins just labels them as "boxes". And ending with a pastoral image of garlic flowers to count did seem a bit anticlimax. Still, it's a cute book, and I'm glad I have it. I just wish it had been even better.

I grew up watching vampire movies, and I'm partial to vampires...maybe that's why I loved this so much. I bought it for my friends daughter. Her birthday is coming up and she created a wishlist for her. When it arrived in the mail and before I wrapped it, I took a look at the book and loved it so much, I bought it for my daughter also. It's adorable. The dark colors and high contrast will capture her attention, and I love that it's something different from all the farm animals we've been looking at for months and months. I love the animals, too, but I am hoping my daughter will be well-rounded and open to all kinds of things, not just animals and flowers. I definitely recommend this book. THe illustrations are very cute and the book is very good quality.

This is not a baby version of Dracula! Like the item name says, this is your normal counting book which counts progressively bigger numbers of things on each page, but what sets this book apart is the wonderful artwork using dark and rich colors, and the things being counted include tombstones and "boxes" (which are coffins). It's a refreshing break from the brightly colored, cutesy books that count carrots, toes and puppies. *yawn*

We love these books. My non-reading daughter loves to sit and look through the BabyLit books. And I love they way they've taken these great classic stories and made them kids books.

Okay, I love the idea of these books. They are beautiful books and educational is more ways than one. But I wouldn't say it is for babies. The drawings for the counting are abstract. Ie count the letters and diaries. I got it tor my toddler (2), he loves counting but has zero interest even with me trying to make it exciting with this book. However, my daughter routinely uses this book (5) and asks a ton of questions about the literature references. Id say wait for this until they are older but I couldn't. Every child is different and all children should have books. Get it. Its durable. Its beautiful. It insights discussion and provokes imagination. They may need to grow into it.

We love the BabyLit books! They are creative, clever, and cute. They teach language and numbers without being asinine for kids.

Dracula is adorable. There are graveyards and coffins ("boxes" in the book), but I guess what do you expect from Dracula? Also, the person we got this for will totally appreciate that.

I LOVE the BabyLit series books! Finally books that are something other than puppies or trucks! I bought just about every one of these because my son loves all the pictures (he's only 8 months) and I get a kick out of how they have transformed these classics into baby books! These are now my go-to baby gift!
