This review is from: Dracula (Great Illustrated Classics) (Hardcover)
I like the fact that this Dracula is adapted. I use it for my 3rd period seniors who are a rowdy bunch. Elliot can't sit down for more than three minutes at a time and runs his mouth like a three year old with diarrhea runs his sphincter. However, when we begin to read this book in a round robin style, the students are able to stay focused and keep up with the story line. I would recommend this for any high school special education teacher who has "Dracula" on their required or suggested reading list. It's not as good as Vogel's "Frankenstein" because he doesn't use as many emotional or tone-setting words, in my opinion. I gave it four stars because it ended up costing me more than 20 bucks with shipping. |
