Just finished this book- and it's not too bad. This is the first book in Robert Lory's Dracula series (I have books 1-8 from this series, only read the first book, don't know if there's a book 9 or above).
This reads more like a soap opera than a horror novel, still I got a big kick out of it. Without giving too much away: a wheelchair-bound scholarly man with strong beliefs in the occult receives a mysterious visit one day by Dracula's familiar (a woman that takes the form of a cat). From there it's off to Transylvania to resurrect Dracula.

SPOILER WARNING-

Sure this novel has it's goofy moments: the protagonist implants Dracula with a device that will drive a wooden stake through his heart should he disobey orders; Dracula's familiar is an expert in reading minds/mind control; Dracula is used as a pawn for personal revenge & eventually the plot ends up with Dracula killing off modern-day (well, modern day for the 1970's) gangsters :)
LOL- isn't this enough to pique your interest :)
I'm actually looking forward to reading the next book in this now out-of-print series. It's a pretty quick read & ends with a pseudo cliff-hanger type ending- oh my, what will happen next? :)
