If your at all interested in drag racing, this book nails it and gives the reader confidence in pursuing the sport.

I bought this SA book as well as HP's bracket racing. I would say to buy bolth. You get all the info you need to get started as well as good tips for the racer who is not sure they getting good tips from fellow racers. They cover tires, driving, strategy, and psychology of drag racing. They also have great data sheet's to copy.

Very interesting material that will teach everything from a to z.
Hard to put down, if you are researching how to drag race. Excellent source.

If you are a beginner, or would like to learn more about Sportsman class drag racing, this book is an excellent tool. Easy to read, lots of pictures, and well thought out. Note: this book is written with novice or completely inexperience racers in mind.

I thought I was a pretty good drag racer (4 wins in 95-96), and now I'm back into it. After reading this book, not only would a beginner understand what to do (and have a better clue than I did when I started), but a veteran can look back and see things click between print and actual racing. If you're new, this will get you started and excited. If you've raced a little, it will help you get better.

This book does have one thing going for it and thats the fact it really rambles on without really saying anything at all that's not common knowledge. There is more information available on the internet for free that you can find contained between the pages of this publication. Within the first few pages you can find a lot of cutting and pasting. No attempt was made to even change the wording. The dupication was not between a few chapters but just paragraphs apart. The duplication was continuous through out the book. I did read the entire book to ensure that I was not over judging, but I was not. I recommend that you save your hard earned dollar and just do a little internet searching and you'll find a lot more information out there than this book contains. I believe in the old saying that if you can't say something nice don't say it, but this is the exception. If I had the option I would not give this even 1 star, but at least 1 is required.

I'm a competitive bracket racer and this book is fantastic.
The author is Kevin McKenna, senior editor of National Dragster magazine.
With most books I might find a few good tips here and there, but this book covers everything.
This book would have saved me at least 1 if not 2 years of learning on my own if I had read it several years ago.
I even found some good advice that I hadn't thought of before that will most likely help me be more competitive in the future.
And best of all I didn't notice any mistakes or inaccurate information.

How to Drag Race was an interesting book to read. I have been racing for 4 years now and found several techniques within the book that were helpful. I recommend that anyone that is a beginner in bracket racing or class racing read this book. Also, anyone that is looking to improve their current techniques.

The author does a great job in keeping the readers attention throughout the entire book. Great Book!
