Why I Like Dragnet, February 10, 2008
This review is from: Dragnet: Volume Six (DVD)
I like those old TV shows that are short and to the point.
What is out there now spends stoo much time on how the
participants feel toward each other. There are usually so
many different topics in one show it gets hard to keep track
of everything. Not so with Dragnet.

The Best Police Show Ever!, February 14, 2010
This review is from: Dragnet: Volume Six (DVD)
Long before there was SVU, CSI, NYPD Blue, Columbo, et al...there was Joe Friday. No one did police stories better than actor/producer Jack Webb. A strong supporter of police and law and order issues, Webb brought a no nonsense, dry humor to the every day grunt work that led to arrests and convictions. HIs trademark "just the facts ma'am" entered the language as a memetic. For those of use who literally witnessed the birth and spread of television in the forties and fifties, Jack Webb will always be remembered for his iconic role as Sgt. Friday.
