Excellent fixed blade for self defense.
Ignatius Malibu
First, the sheath covers too much of the knife grip so you can't get your index finger on the knife until you've pulled it from the sheath.

Overall my knife came sharp and well made.

This knife came out of the box with a razor edge, much sharper than I was expecting from the factory. I know CRKT are mass produced so your luck may vary a little bit, but it seems I got lucky.

The grip is great, just aggressive enough to be able to keep a good hold on the knife, and the butt has a good rounded point that would be great for breaking glass or skulls.

I have two minor complaints. First, the sheath covers too much of the knife grip so you can't get your index finger on the knife until you've pulled it from the sheath. I prefer to be able to get all four fingers on the grip before pulling, but in this case it's not a deal breaker because there's enough return on the butt of the grip that your pinky digs in and lets you pull the knife out past the detent. Once it's out, you can slide your index finger into the grip.

The second complaint is that the grip is a little narrow. I have average sized hands and I would have preferred something just a little more substantial to fill my palm. Again, not a deal breaker since I can remove these scales and make my own to my liking.

So I'll probably end up making some new grip scales, and maybe molding a new Kydex sheath with a detent that sits lower on the blade.

This knife is absolutely ideal for concealed weapon carry. I was able to use only the items in the package, to set up the sheath in a manner that would allow me to carry this knife in the small of my back, for a rapid "reaching for my wallet" cross draw belly slice attack. the feel of the knife in the hand is excellent, the balance and sharpness of the blade are fantastic. When I'm not carrying my sub compact .40 pistol, this knife is tucked into the waistband of my pants, secured in place by my belt. I cannot fathom why it was discontinued.

These are really fun and awesome knives. I already own the black on black and the silver blade on black. Saw this new color combination and had to get it also.

I enjoy CRKT knives (own about 10 of them) and they are a great value for the price.
Are they the best knives you can buy? Absolutely not.
Are they a great value? Absolutely yes. Solid builds, sharp blades and good looking.

My black on black stays on my pack whenever I'm out. This one will be a gift for my son.

Now the bad. I ordered from Best Service Stores (which fronts for Knife Country USA. I ordered on Aug 31. It finally shipped on Sep 5 (actually the 6th. They processed a label on the 5th but the package didn't reach the shipped until the 6th). And here I sit on the night of the 6th and it hasn't left the depot yet. SSSLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

UPDATE 10/5/2013- When the knife finally arrived after 2 weeks, it was the brown handle, silver blade. NOT the black blade that I ordered. I called and left a msg for Knife Country USA over the weekend. A gal called back on Tuesday. We discussed the problem and she said it's our fault. I'll get a new knife out to you today w/ a return label for the mistake. Delivered FAST. Her attitude and customer service really changes my mind about ordering from them again.

My son loves the black on brown he has but now his wife wants me to get her the brown & silver mistake, haha.

I've had the CRKT Dragon as my primary boot knife for a while. The Kershaw 4007 secret agent seemed lighter so I thought I'd give that a try too. I found some important difference which skewed my decision back in the Dragons favor:

Pros of the Kershaw/Cons of the Dragon:
The kydex sheath on the Kershaw 4007 is about 1/2 the width of the CRKT and the whole set up is lighter. In addition, while I found the handle of the CRKT Dragon excellent in a natural grip, it was not as good in a reverse (ice pick) grip. The Kershaw feels comfortable in any type of grip. I also liked the double-sided blade of the Kershaw as it penetrates effortlessly and a little more efficiently than the Dragon does.

Cons of the Kershaw/Pros of the Dragon:
The kydex sheath on the Kershaw killed it for me. It's well built and holds the blade securely, however the design of it makes is UNCOMFORTABLE for long periods of time the way I carry it (upside down on the inside front of my calf with the metal clip REMOVED). Unfortunately while thinner than the CRKT Dragon's sheath, it is THICKER in an awkward manner that causes part of the sheath to dig into my calf after a period of time. The CRKT's sheath is much flatter and wider and sits more comfortably against the leg. In fact, I've worn the CRKT Dragon for an entire day without hardly noticing it was there. I couldn't wear the Kershaw more than 2 or 3 hours, which means I wouldn't carry it on a regular basis negating the entire benefit of having one. I tried the Kershaw as a forearm carry but it was too long for that and also had the problem of digging into me, and it's too long to practically conceal when clipped on my belt.

I began using CRKT knives on my first deployment and have never been let down. I even had one save my life when my weapon jammed. Best fighting knives I have ever used
