4.0 out of 5 stars Good saga but you're gonna have to wait..., March 31, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Dragon Ball Z - Cell Games (Starter Set) (DVD)
Okay, this is an awesome saga but there's a couple problems.
1.)This saga's so long. It has 9 DVDs
2.)This only comes with 2/9 of the DVDs
3.)The other DVDs come out at different times-like a month apart for each
4.)It's gonna be almost half a year before the rest of the DVDs come out.

So, you might want to just get this on VHS. Unless you hate VHS and you can wait that long for them to come out, you should go for the tapes.

Although there are some problems, this is still a really interesting saga. I own the first 3 DVDs from this saga and I liked them a lot.
This starter set comes with the first two volumes only-the rest you have to wait till they come out then buy them.
The first DVD is "Ultimatum" where everyone learns about the tournament and starts preparing. The second one is "A Moments Peace" where a lot of stuff happens with Gohan and Goku as they somehow are training by doing nothing. Gohan meets this girl and they show a lot of past events.

2.0 out of 5 stars What this Contains, November 20, 2005
This review is from: Dragon Ball Z - Cell Games (Starter Set) (DVD)
After looking at the sides of the webpage asking for an explanation of what was in the Cell Games Starter Set, it said in one of the explanations of DVD's that the Cell Games Starter Set contained all 9 DVD's, it does not. In fact you dont get to see any of the Cell Games, the first disk is talking about the Cell games and the 2nd disk is Gohan's childhood. I can't seem to find any complete box sets of the Cell Saga. Be forewarned. They got me.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dragon Ball Z - Cell Games (Starter Set) (DVD)
Do NOT buy this saga on VHS, it's a waste of money. Get it on DVD. It is the one saga that will definately pay off if you wait patiently and shell out a few extra dollars. The Japanese version is not only better acted, though that is a well argued fact, it also has the original inserted Kageyama Hironobu song "Spirit Versus Spirit".

This is probably going to be the last DBZ item I will purchase. I haven't bought anything DBZ in a long time, but for the end of the Cell Games, I will give up the dough and swallow my pride. If there's one saga or season of Dragon Ball to own, it is definately this one.
