4.0 out of 5 stars Good saga but you're gonna have to wait...
Okay, this is an awesome saga but there's a couple problems.
1.)This saga's so long. It has 9 DVDs
2.)This only comes with 2/9 of the DVDs
3.)The other DVDs come out at different times-like a month apart for each
4.)It's gonna be almost half a year before the rest of the DVDs come out.

So, you might want to just get this on VHS. Unless you hate VHS...

2.0 out of 5 stars What this Contains
After looking at the sides of the webpage asking for an explanation of what was in the Cell Games Starter Set, it said in one of the explanations of DVD's that the Cell Games Starter Set contained all 9 DVD's, it does not. In fact you dont get to see any of the Cell Games, the first disk is talking about the Cell games and the 2nd disk is Gohan's childhood. I can't seem...

Although there are some problems, this is still a really interesting saga. I own the first 3 DVDs from this saga and I liked them a lot.
This starter set comes with the first two volumes only-the rest you have to wait till they come out then buy them.
The first DVD is "Ultimatum" where everyone learns about the tournament and starts preparing. The second one is "A Moments Peace" where a lot of stuff happens with Gohan and Goku as they somehow are training by doing nothing. Gohan meets this girl and they show a lot of past events.

Be forewarned. They got me.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dragon Ball Z - Cell Games (Starter Set) (DVD)
Do NOT buy this saga on VHS, it's a waste of money. Get it on DVD. It is the one saga that will definately pay off if you wait patiently and shell out a few extra dollars. The Japanese version is not only better acted, though that is a well argued fact, it also has the original inserted Kageyama Hironobu song "Spirit Versus Spirit".

This is probably going to be the last DBZ item I will purchase. I haven't bought anything DBZ in a long time, but for the end of the Cell Games, I will give up the dough and swallow my pride. If there's one saga or season of Dragon Ball to own, it is definately this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's worth the wait!, May 26, 2007
This review is from: Dragon Ball Z - Cell Games (Starter Set) (DVD)
This is a great saga in the dragonball z series and is my personal favorite. This stater set gives you 2 out of 9 dvds so you're going to have to spend a little extra cash to get the whole set. But it is worth it. This saga has the best action and has a lot of suspense and plot twists that it keeps you glued to your t.v. There are key moments such as- Goku fighting Cell, Gohan becoming a super saiyan 2 and defeating all the Cell Jrs., and the climatic battle against Cell himself. It took me a while to get the set together but it was worth because it truly is a great dvd set. I recommend this dvd set.

Trunks tells the story of the other's that Cell has created his own tournament where they will be fighting. Goku fought Cell but he wasn't strong enough instead it was Gohan who was strong enough. By unleashing his true power cell created little cell kids they kept own beating up his friends then Gohan got mad especially when android 16 got killed.
