5.0 out of 5 stars A truly excellent DVD, September 18, 2004
By
Free Pizza (College Park, MD United States) - See all my reviews
This DVD (which is the 6th in the Cell Games saga) starts where the previous one left off. It features 3 episodes of pretty much non-stop action which also help to progress the story as it brings us closer to the climax of the plot.

Anyway, here's what you can expect. The last DVD left us off with Goku surrendering and then letting Gohan in. In this DVD, Gohan fights Cell as Cell tries to get him to release his hidden power. Also, the Japaneese version (with english subtitles) is full of funny jokes and excellent music. The DVD has no extra features.

Anyway, this is a must buy! You should pick up right away.

the show and episodes themselves are amazing some of of the best episodes on dbz leading up to one of the biggest climaxes ever on the show .......[...........] (and might i say after the cell games start season 6 is probobly THE BEST season in dbz the first couple of discs are just kind aslow .but i liked the character interaction and the comedy fun and joy and the kinda calm before the storm feeling it gave me)so yeah if lost a disc in your seson set buy this otherwise you can get 10 times as many episodes for 30-35 bucks new at wallmart, target, circuit city or almost any place that sells tv show sets or movies just look in the childrens section in a lot of the stores. you can also get them used on amazon or ebay for uinder thirty some of them pretty cheap and good condition. i got most of mine used and i own 1-8theres just one more season to come out and ill own all of dbzand i can fit them all on one shlef with plenty of room.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great But Is It Worth It?, September 17, 2005
Dragon Ball Z is, quite frankly, one of the best, if not the best, anime ever made. It has everything any hardcore anime fan as well as anyone interested in getting started on would want. But quite frankly, it is a discrace that they would sell them at these prices for all the more you can get. Quite frankly, it would be cheaper to purchase a TIVO and record them for your own viewing pleasure off of the Cartoon Network.

Please note that for every DVD you purchase from FUNanimation, you recieve a grand total of 3 episodes. Well guess who just wasted twenty or so dollars on about 75 minutes worth of anime that could be watched on TV for free... Yes my friend, that would be you if you bought this item.

Sure, if you have the money and you are really, REALLY into the DBZ saga's, then go ahead and shell out your hard earned cash. For the rest of us, TIVO or TV will surfice.

Oh, and one last note: HD-DVD disks and Blu-ray (as well as the fabeled Holgraphic Disks) will be coming out shortly. And YES! FUNanimation will play on the consumer just like it did when it released it VHS styled recording of the SAME episodes only a few short years ago by releasing them in those aformentioned forms. Its just a money game that too many people fall for.

All in all:DBZ is a very good anime. This DVD is just a waste of time and money. (Note I am grading the value, NOT the anime itself)
