Editorial Reviews

Review

"The runaway hit of the Cartoon Network . . . It's easy to see why Dragon Ball Z is going to be the headlining title of Shonen Jump."

About the Author

Akira Toriyama's first weekly series, Dr. Slump, has entertained generations of readers in Japan since it was introduced in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1980. A few years later, he created his wildly popular Dragon Ball series, which brought him international success. Toriyama is also known for his character designs for video games, including Dragon Warrior, Chrono Trigger and Tobal No. 1.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the series!, February 10, 2004

Bilbo Baggins "mighty hobbit" (Land of Dwarves and Hobbits) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dragon Ball Z, Vol. 4 (Paperback)
This book is my favorite of the Dragonball Z books I have read so far. It has one of the best battles in all of the series as Vegeta and Goku test each others limits. Each time Vegeta seems to be beaten he comes back from the dead. This is probably the first truly great battle of the series. Finally, vegeta is defeated when Gohan transforms into a giant ape and then falls on him. You should definitely buy the first four books of the series as they set the stage for the adventures to come.
