Book Description

A delightfully illustrated tale of Hubert the Horrible, a dragon who dares to be different. High in the dark mountains, Hubert dreams of giving up his dragony ways, and playing joyfully with the children in the village in the valley instead of eating them for breakfast.

Will Hubert find the courage to put aside what others think and say, and follow their dreams?

A short and poignant tale with a purpose - to teach little ones that they are created to be just who they are - not what someone else thinks they should be.

It is a lesson in overcoming peer pressure, and knowing that it is ok to follow your dream, even if others may not understand.

4.0 out of 5 stars WHO AM I? April 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Who am I? That is the question Hubert the Horrible and Sir Henry the Knight ask. Hubert has a reputation for eating children and Sir Henry is sent out to slay the dragons terrifying the land, but neither of them is happy. Hubert really wants to play with the children and Sir Henry would like to be a farmer raising oranges. One day Hubert invites Henry in for a visit and they confide their feelings to one another. There is a big problem; each is expected to live up to his reputation. Will they find a way to make both themselves and others happy? This story can be read aloud or used as an early chapter book for independent reading. There are some colorful illustrations accompanying the text. The author promises more adventures with these delightful characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Bravest Thing We Can Do Is Tell the Truth May 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a terrific book, as are all of the David Lee Martin books I have read. This one teaches a great lesson made real by the unforgettable characters in this book: "... the bravest thing we can do is tell the truth and be honest with others." The illustrations are really wonderful, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book for children to learn about sharing. May 14, 2013
By Susan
Format:Kindle Edition
I was surprised how much I as an adult enjoyed reading this book. I am always on the look out for books for my grandchildren and this one is a keeper for me. I know that my granddaughter will learn from it. She has been an only child for over 4 years and now with a new baby brother in the family, she is going to have to share not only her toys, but also her parents time and affection. This will help her understand what she will get from sharing. Yes, I am glad that I purchased this book.
