Overall I can't complain about the production value. They have been re-mastered and the work was good. The language options page is easy to use and the English version seems better than most movies. No long screams to fill in words.

Story line and action wise is another matter. I will list each movie separately

Martial Arts Of Shaolin; It has a very young Jet Li as the main character. He has to be young he never would have agreed to do this after he was established. His Shaolin monk character eats meat is obsessed with revenge and has a silver bracelet that he has had since he was a baby and is teaching a gang of urchins kung-fu. Any one of these would have been unbelievable adding them altogether was just hilarious. As a saving grace though, the Martial action in this movie was pretty good.

Five Shaolin Masters; Story line was at least believable. The packaging calls this "one of the best cinematic displays of martial arts ever" I disagree, I thought the fights were way to slow and the styles way to rigid. The weapons were interesting but they seemed way to powerful.

Executioners of Shaolin; This was enjoyable. Believable (well more believable) plot line and the action was well choreographed.

Mad Monkey Kung Fu; Ok I have to admit I enjoyed this. Couple of big mistakes in the overall plot. But if you just shrug it off and enjoy the story as presented its pretty good.

Buying a box set was best bang for the buck! It was like Christmas, opening one after another and not being disappointed!

On a whim (and because of the low price), I bought both of The Dragon Dynasty four film box sets. I think I like Volume 2 much better than this because those films are much more serious in tone. I am new to Shaw Bros. films so I don't have much to compare these with. I enjoyed them all for the most part except Five Shaolin Masters which I found incredibly boring. The other three films lean heavily towards the comedic side of things and will appeal to those of us whose know martial arts cinema mostly from Jackie Chan.

Maybe a bluray release of these movies would be a little better, the dvds show a little artifacting but not much, proiablly just DVD issues in general. But the transfer from celestial pictures are good, the best source of these movies I've seen to date, way better than releases of these flicks from 14 years ago. Great movies at a good price, all good movies for 8 bucks. No better deal

Great movie compilation as compared to other Dragon Dynasty boxed sets. Every movie in the set is classic! Lau Kar-leung directs three of the movies here and 'Five Shoalin Masters' directed by Chang Cheh . . . OH YEAH!!

I just love the multi packs of movies. This gave me the opportunity to watch more martial arts shows without having to switch dvd's. all I can say is keep doing the multi's.
