5.0 out of 5 stars COVER TO COVER READ....HOT. HOT. HOT., February 25, 2006
This review is from: Dragon Lords: The Barbarian Prince (Book 1) (Paperback)
The Barbarian Prince: book one...
The four princes of Qurilixian will meet and choose their life mate. Book one is about Prince Ualan. His planet is male dominated and they must seek elsewhere for mates...Morrigan is a snoopy reporter who signs on with Galaxy Brides to get a undercover story regarding the four princes and their weddings. What she did not bargain for was being mated to Prince Ualan after getting drunk at the bonding ceremony. The story heats up after that...There is also mystery,,,someone wants the new brides dead..
You will fall in love with these characters...The author doesn't tell you much regarding the three other marriages because that will follow in her three other books to the series.
The Perfect Prince, The Dark Prince and The Warrior Prince.

Alpha-male :) graphic scenes, detailed, light bondage..
This book was Yummy... You will find yourself laughing with the main heroine Morrigan. She is very witty and fun and proves to be a handful for Ualan. She has alot of one-liners that had me nearly falling off my chair in laughter.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Refreshing Paranormal Romance, August 17, 2005
This review is from: Dragon Lords: The Barbarian Prince (Book 1) (Paperback)
Honestly, when I first read this book I couldn't put it down. This book is different. It was a breath of fresh air compared to some of the other Romance books that are out. I can't wait to read the rest of the books from the series of the Dragon Lords.

Well not really considered soft-porn amongst other raunchy books that are out. The sex scenes in the book are for the expression of love unlike other books that just have sex in every damned page makes my head hurt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meet the Qurilixian Princes! Hot!, March 31, 2005
This review is from: Dragon Lords: The Barbarian Prince (Book 1) (Paperback)
The Barbarian Prince is one of those books that hooks the reader in from the very beginning. Michelle Pillow does a fantastic job introducing the reader to Qurilixen and the four Qurilixian Princes. By the time I finished the last page I had to get the next book because I had met new friends and wanted to see what happened to them. Barbarian Prince is a story of love and romance with a fantasy-shifter theme, plus there are hot and sexy scenes. What better entertainment could a reader ask for?

3.0 out of 5 stars Lords of Var Great. Dragon Lords not so much., May 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Dragon Lords series starts out with the Dragon Shifter and Heir to the throne meeting his mate at a seductive, ritual wedding ceremony. The misunderstandings between the Prince and bride continue the story as the bride who never intended to be a princess, begrudingly comes to terms with her fate and falls in love with the handsome dragon shifter prince-who is bound for life to his bride. At the Beginning of all four books, the exact same premise is shared from each bride's point of view. It became tiresome to me. Ensuing events taken from the first book were re-told from each bride's perspective. It could have all been condensed to one book with four brides and four princes and how they all fell in love. I would have felt that the series would be better if the author wanted to tell four completely different stories.(Like the Lords of Var) It would have been better to have even different years for each prince to marry, let alone separate ways to introduce them. But there were some funny moments that I can appreciate. I had to just put "It's Ok" for this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Download or print this book is a must have!!, March 29, 2005
This review is from: Dragon Lords: The Barbarian Prince (Book 1) (Paperback)
This book is the first of the Dragon Lords series and is an absolute must! Intergalactic reporter morrigan is out to get the exclusive of a life time, the weddings of the four princes of Qurilixian. Posing as a Galaxy Bride brought to the planet seriously deprived of females, Morrigan finds herself chosen as a bride. Little does she know that her new husband is Prince Ualan a proud and handsome warrior who has no intention of taking no for an answer.
This book is witty, funny and sexy and very hard to put down, so clear your day this is a one sitter! The blending of a futuristic setting with a somewhat historical setting is really smooth, so you don't have to be a Sci-fi fan to enjoy this series.
The story continues with the three other princes in future books with all the stories winding around each other very well without being repetitive. Look out for her new series about the Var lords who feature is this series.

I liked the book. It had an interesting premise and the characters were interesting. I thought there could have been more done with them. Sex scenes were hot, would have loved more. But it was an enjoyable read. I'm defiantly picking up the rest of the series to see where she takes it.

5.0 out of 5 stars not what i was looking for, August 10, 2010
This review is from: Dragon Lords: The Barbarian Prince (Book 1) (Paperback)
I often get lost. I was looking to revisit the DRAGONLANCE series and strayed way off to this, Dragon Lords. Not the same at all. The world of Lance's Krynn vs Lord's Qurilixen--I sought dark fantasy, this is maybe romance-fantasy plus sci-fi lite. And it's a somewhat explicit romance.

I realized upon unwrapping this book, I was not in the proper place. A barely clad muscle man is on the cover, a first paragraph noting a breeding festival, bed partners and galaxy brides. Where were the wizards, elves and goblins? In comparison, Dragonlance continues over many books, a battle of good vs evil in an dangered world. Circling dragons instill dragonfear. As to Barbarian Prince, this first of four Dragon Lords books could be a stand alone novella. Lord's Draig population have a semi-utopian life except for the pesky warring Var and a problematic shortage of women. Shifting dragons instill lust.

After I accepted a premise of essentially love at first sight, virtuous brides and some other romance hooks, the story became unexpectedly quite captivating. I really took to liking the female lead, Morrigan is a career focused undercover reporter. Her character is smartly drawn with clever professional and personal background details, plus a kick-butt attitude. She fights through inner turmoil, the Var and mostly handsome leading man Uulan. Morrigan and Uulan have shared traits of hard-headedness, grit and playfulness that made for a highly enjoyable battle of the wills/sexes clash. True Dragonlance/D & D followers might not appreciate this light escapist story--but I'm happy I found it. Serendipity.

5.0 out of 5 stars An exciting, hot read!, April 29, 2010
This review is from: Dragon Lords: The Barbarian Prince (Book 1) (Paperback)
Morrigan is an undercover reporter. She poses as a prospective bride and lands on another planet. A planet populated by handsome warriors who have very few women. Her mission is to expose the company, Galaxy Brides and not get herself chosen.

Ualan is a prince, and with his four brothers they await the brides from Earth, hoping that they will find their life mates. They live simply and are fierce loyal warriors. They believe in the magic of their crystals, which will lead them to the one they must marry.

Ualan's crystal choses Morrigan, and she goes along, thinking that she will be able to get her story quickly and then leave. After a short courtship, a lifting of masks, a breaking of crystals, Ualan claims they are married. She has no idea that he is a prince, but rather thinks he must be a gardner, and calls him `caveman'. Morrigan, though highly attracted to this handsome warrior, tries to tell him that this cannot be so. Ualan is furious, and she becomes his slave.

What follows is a very sensual, exciting story of how Ualan and Morrigan resolve their differences and begin their life as man and wife. Ualan, at first does seem like the caveman, with his few words on their courtship night, and later his furious behavior. Morrigan, who is used to all modern comforts is shocked to find out that she must learn to clean and cook. It is very amusing to see her attempts at both.

This is Ms Pillow's second published book. Her first, The Mist of Midnight is a totally different genre, and Ms Pillow is proving herself to be a very diversified writer. In The Barbarian Prince, she has built a very believable world, wonderful three dimensional characters and a very amusing, exciting, sensual story. Her love scenes are very well written and left this reviewer very hot and bothered! The princes find out that their brides are a force to be reckoned with, their enemies find this out also. There are some nice surprises which add to the rich plot. This reviewer is looking forward very much to the stories of the other three princes.

Of all the books I own of Michelle this series is my all time favorite! Once again Michelle outdid her self in the theme and writing of these books.
I have a area just for her books and this is the best place to start if you have never read her books. Once you read the first book you will be totally hooks on them and want to read more of her books !
