5.0 out of 5 stars The 3rd Prince another great read!
Dragon Lords: The Dark Prince (Book 3)

The 3rd prince has found his great love but she cannot take being on this planet under his authority. She is used to being care free and in charge through the galaxies as a pirate. Many hot, sexy scenes that will keep you wanting more.

If you've read the first 2 books of the series, you know you can't wait...

3.0 out of 5 stars aauggh - starts off great and then quickly goes downhill
What is with this obsession with all the brides in this season being virginal! It made sense for a couple of them, but particularly for Olena it just really rang false. I really hated how she went from this clever, sassy woman, to "help tell me what to do in bed" bride towards the end. Aaauugggh, this story could have been so great as Pillow can write but unlike book 2...

5.0 out of 5 stars Liked, April 22, 2011

So far I've liked what I've read from both the Dragon and Var series, and this was no exception. Though I still enjoyed "Barbarian" a bit more, I did like the characters Olena and Yusef (of course), and wanted them to work things out. Like Pillow's other novels there is tension (and fighting, and yelling, some stabbing) which makes for an interesting, well drawn out story.

The only thing about all the novels taking place at the exact same time, and coming in contact with one another is that there is a lot of repetition between the books. Because I've been reading them within days of one another I ended up skipping a good portion because I had just read that exact same thing in the previous novel. Its a great thing if you read them out of order because it makes it easy to just jump in and read, but a not so great thing if you have been following in order.

Overall I really liked "The Dark Prince", and I plan to continue reading more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another exciting read!!!, April 29, 2010
This review is from: Dragon Lords: The Dark Prince (Book 3) (Paperback)
The third book in The Dragon Lords series, Michelle M. Pillow brings us the story of Yusef and Olena. It is quite amazing to this reviewer that Ms Pillow can tell basically the same story from different characters point of views and keep each story fresh, exciting and thrilling.

Olena is a space pirate and good at her job. She gets on board the Galaxy Brides spaceship while running away from a bounty hunter. Thinking she can get herself married off to some barbarian on another planet, and make her escape, she joins the other girls in getting herself ready. Little does she know that fate has dealt her cards, and Olena is about to find herself in the arms of not only a handsome warrior who shows her passion beyond her imagination, but who is also a prince.

Yusef knew as soon as he saw her that the fiery redhead would be his. Olena was everything he had ever wanted in a woman. He knows that she will be hard to tame, but he has always liked playing with fire. The trouble with fire is that sometimes you get burned. Yusef is prepared to fight for her love and in doing so, he reveals the tenderness he holds inside his warriors heart.

This is an exciting story. Ms Pillow has written two very emotional, complicated and highly loveable characters. Olena has a lot of emotional baggage to sort out and Yusef is every bit of the dark prince the title suggests. One may think that to hear the same plot again and again would be boring, but Ms Pillow always gives us wonderful characters with new problems to sort out between them, and a slightly different angle on the plot. Each book deals with the complications that each prince has with his chosen wife. In the case of Yusef and Olena, the sexual tension is very high and the reader is at last satisfied when Yusef can finally consummate his marriage to Olena. Olena's realisation that she is finally in love with her husband is an emotional moment and this reviewer got major tingles. A well written book that flows along, this reviewer highly recommends and feels that so far, this is the best one. This reviewer is waiting with baited breath for the fourth book to be published.

5.0 out of 5 stars great series, August 16, 2007

This book was one of the best in the series. I almost didn't buy this book because one reviewer said the heroine was disgusting and another said this book was just porn. I'm glad I bought this book, Olena the pirate was great, she was very spirited but not cruel and had a very tragic past that explained her pirate occupation. This book was not porn, it has a great story line, with some tastful sex scenes.

Tasteful romance, Not porn, though not meant for FIFTEEN year olds. I liked the story of the romance between the lady pirate and the dragon prince. The story could have been more fleshed out, but Olena's troubled past touched me. The heroine was stubborn, but it was touching how she finally warmed up to Yusef.

I am buying the rest of the books in this series

p.s. to the ignorant reviewer that states the cover model is fondling him self - he's wearing a loin cloth and has his hand on his hip - duh!

I really hated how she went from this clever, sassy woman, to "help tell me what to do in bed" bride towards the end. Aaauugggh, this story could have been so great as Pillow can write but unlike book 2 where the character's strengths are maintained throughout the book, in this book, the pirate bride gradually becomes milk toast.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT VERY ROMANTIC, July 4, 2006
This review is from: Dragon Lords: The Dark Prince (Book 3) (Paperback)
Hi everyone I am 15 yrs old and I have to agree with another reviewer when they said this is not romance.
The lead female was disgusting to me. The lead male was handsome, patient, and kind. What he saw in the lead female is beyond me.
He was described as being a dark bronzed prince. She was described as being a pale pirate, what a way to describe the lead female. She took off her hair pin and stuck him in the neck. She drugged him, she teased him (sexually) she went swimming after he told her snakes was in the water, she stabbed herself in the arm, to stay bonded with her
theiving crew, and even tore up her wedding dress. She appeared before his parents, the king and queen bleeding. A reviewer wrote this is a strong female??? There's more but I'm afraid if I go on Amazon won't print my review. If you must read this book I suggest you buy it used. I know everyone has their own taste but I just can't see many people reading this over and over.

5.0 out of 5 stars ...., January 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
so predictable, same old story--boy meets girl. Qurilixen prince meets space piratress on the intergalactic lam. Then add in lite fantasy sci-fi, dramatic scraps with the enemy Var(The Savage King (Lords of the Var)) and a very Spicy, sweet romance.

this Dark title is the lightest, funnest of the DragonLord series, but has surprising darkness too. Olena Leyten is a rascally pirate turned rebellious bride. Yusef is the strong-willed, protective prince. Together they exchange biting remarks, the occasional bite mark, and...umm...quite a bit more. Pirate stories have buried treasure, in DragonLords there's buried turmoil. On finding Olena's, i'm shaken with a bit of shock and awe. At about the third or fifth re-reading, Dark Prince became so predictable.

i read the books out of order, better to begin with Barbarian, then Perfect to Dark.
