5.0 out of 5 stars A very nice resource, March 3, 2006
This review is from: Dragon Magazine, Issue 57 (Paperback)
Dragon Magazine has been a great resource for those who play TSR's Dungeons & Dragons, and other games, since it premiered in 1976. Issue #57 came out in January 1982 (when AD&D was still in its 1st edition), and while it does not have an overarching theme it does contain quite a few interesting articles. Among the articles are:

The Wandering Trees - An adventure for a party of 6th to 9th level characters.

Modern Monsters - An article on taking your characters to the modern world.

The History of the Shield

Giants in the Earth - A semi-regular article that gives information on literary characters, so that you can slip them into your adventures. This article focuses on three female characters - C.J. Cherryh's Morgaine, Lynn Abbey's Rifkind, and Robert E. Howard's Dark Agnes.

Overall, I found this to be a very good issue, with lots of goodies in it. In particular I liked the Modern Monsters article and the Wandering Trees adventure. So, if you play 1st edition AD&D, then this is a very nice resource for you to get.
