This review is from: Dragon Magazine, No. 56 (Paperback)
Dragon Magazine has been a great resource for those who play TSR's Dungeons & Dragons, and other games, since it premiered in 1976. Issue #56 came out in December 1981 (when AD&D was still in its 1st edition), and while it does not have an overarching theme it does contain quite a few interesting articles. Among the articles are:
A new character class - the Welsh Bard. This is a very interesting looking class that makes up for many of the weaknesses of the AD&D (1st ed.) Bard. Three new monsters, including the interesting magical construct, the Gem Var. News out of the north-central Flanaess (Greyhawk campaign) for 577-578 CY. And also an adventure module for the Top Secret role playing game. Overall, I found this to be a very good issue, with lots of goodies in it, including some new monsters. If you play 1st edition AD&D, then this is a very nice resource for you to get.
