5.0 out of 5 stars Good YA Book. Quick, fun read. June 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is a great introduction to a rigid society where being a Stone Soul and then, becoming a Dragon Master is one of the most important things anyone can do.

The book follows the training of the Stone Souls (young men) to fight dragons and become dragon masters. There are a few twists mixed with adventures and exciting action.

When the book ends... it made me laugh... but at the same time... it is a perfect lead-in as the beginning of a series and the next book should be a fun read, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read March 25, 2013
Format:Paperback
This was a quick easy read. It had an interesting and imaginative take on the origins of the dragons. The book had some slow moments and was rather predictable at times. Overall, I enjoyed it and it caught my attention. I can't wait for book 2 to come out, since I feel like book 1 did a good job setting up the story to get interesting in future books.

5.0 out of 5 stars a little surprised June 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It is a interesting read and could be used by an astute teacher to have some teaching moments for pre and early teens regarding sexism, right choices, consequences and deceptions. Good action, likable characters, and well written and published

5.0 out of 5 stars Wanna be a Dragon Master February 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is an excellent fantasy novel about dragons and young people wanting to be Dragon Masters. Follow the lives of several Stone Souls who are training to become Dragon Masters. All they have to do is slay a dragon; not an easy task. They embark on a dragon quest and several hidden things come to light, some romantic encounters take place and the end will surprise you. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was an easy read, the characters were well defined and the action was non stop. I feel Alan Carr did an excellent job in putting this story together, and look forward to reading more from him. I recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy. Get the book, read it & enjoy it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was good as far as evil dragon books go. June 23, 2014
By lbj66
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It was good as far as evil dragon books go, but I am looking forward to the next one. I'm more inclined to like dragon books where the dragons are not the enemy and interact with a rider. But I'm open to any as long as there is a dragon.
Had a good interaction and the bonding of young friends.
