I just finished reading Volume I of this series (The Book of Earth and The Book of Water in one volume). It was fantastic, and so far Volume II is just as good. I've been reading past midnight every night because I just can't stand to put the book down. The characters are engaging and realistic, and I eagerly anticipate each chapter to see what new challenges they face. The storyline is full of suspense and drama, while not being melodramatic. Any fans of McCaffrey's and Lackey's dragon series are sure to enjoy this series.
