Book Description

Dragon Soul is the first book of the series Dragons in the Mist.  Both novels were sent through another professional edit 4-2013 to address issues found by readers.
Dragon Rebirth picks up where Dragon Soul left off. The plot line intensifies, new characters are introduced and the arena for the battle with the creatures attacking the Palmir People broadens as the story progresses. Mixed in all this, there are poignant moments of loss, love, spiritual growth and maturity as the characters face their fears and find within themselves the means to survive and prepare to prevail against the incursions.
Dragon Hosts transform into dragons to battle the influx of the Plague from the North, an invasion of the Volastoque--creatures who's primary goal is to annihilate the Palmir People.
The characters you learned to love in book one continue their preparations to defend the Palmir People against the incursion of the Volastoque. The hatching of the first dragon eggs in over three hundred years bring in new characters and twists that immerses the reader in the trials and victories of the culture and its people.

In Dragon Soul, we saw how these can meld to work together for the benefit of everyone. In Dragon Rebirth, the characters are forced to look within themselves for strength, and learn the depth of their moral fiber.

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging Page Turner December 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While I have long loved Anne McCaffrey's DRAGONRIDERS OF PERN series, I believe I may have found a new series to follow with equal relish.

The characters have depth and potential....they invited me to care about their goals and struggles while the plot dipped and swirled into interesting patterns and glimpses of further story lines I'd like to see explored more.

I believe this series could become as rich a tapestry as one of Mona's own.

However, I would also warn the author to take more care of her editorial production values. As the second volume progressed there began to be more and more typos, mis-applied word transpositions, and missing or mixed up word placements within sentences. There was even a glaring character name error made in one pivotal scene.

As the frequency of these production errors increased, they became more and more distracting and gave rise to a feeling of a "rush-to-meet-a-publishing-deadline" instead of the appropriate craftsmanship the unfolding story and characters deserved.

The author thanked her beta-readers in her afterword....but I would urge them to spend a little more effort on proof-reading. A well-told story deserves a well-executed manuscript....just as Glaston would use in crafting one of his cradles, Mona one of her tapestries, or Nora Centa one of her meals.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Read, Lousy English November 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have very much enjoyed the first two books in this series. However, the horrid spelling and grammar in the second book nearly caused me to stop reading. Please find a proofreader and editor worth paying for their skills. I am hesitant to spend money on the third book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dragon lovers dream April 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When I first started reading this book I wasn't sure I was going to like it...I am an Ann McCaffrey fan and she is hard to beat..anyway it didn't take long before I was entranced with this book and could not put it down! Besides being a book about dragons there is mystery, intrigue and folklore in it. I have already purchased book 2 and am looking forward to reading it after I finish my current read. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, dragons and folklore!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!!!! August 29, 2013

I loved these two books. I can not wait for the third book to come out. I was a little surprised when it left me wanting to keep reading. Didn't know it was a multiple series over two. But I am excited to get into the next chapters of these books. How many more will there be?

5.0 out of 5 stars A better book! September 21, 2012

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
OK, So I was intrigued by the first book and liked the community feel of the village, the different take on dragons, morphing, etc. I really liked the first book, but loved the second one. The positive characters are endearing, funny, and very well developed. The villains are dark and dastardly without being TOO horrific. I want an escape, after all! Kudos to B.J. Whittington. Looking forward to the next installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific... But E-Book Error Alert! November 20, 2012
By berggie
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a terrific story, well-written and totally engrossing.
WARNING RE E-BOOK VERSION: As several other reviewers have noted, the downloaded version was full of typos and grammatical errors. What happened to me was that I received TWO sequential copies in my download. After working my way through the story, and all the errors ("thAn for every instance of thEn) I found that the story started over a few pages later. In this version, most (I didn't look for all) of the errors have been corrected. I contacted Amazon and learned that a revised version is available for re-downloading. This indication should appear in your Kindle Library list but while on the phone with the service rep we found that while 4 of my purchased books had updated versions, only 1 stated that fact in my Library. Anyway, check you Library List for updates. Dragon Soul, the first book, has also been updated by the publisher (so has Hunger Games). Hope this helps, I learned a few things.
In closing, I highly recommend this series of books and look forward to the next volume.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dragon Love Continues March 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I could not wait to start this book...I bought it as soon as I finished Dragon Soul. The characters are all very in depth, though I did get rather tired of reading that Nora Centa jiggles all the time. I do not think it needed to be said so often. It is my one and only criticism of the books. The people and dragons are all very real, good or bad. I feel as if I am a very real part of the story. Worrying and wondering what comes next. Also the authors love of animals comes through in her depictions of the relations with animals in the book. The love and honor shown them is refreshing. I am so upset that the next book is not out. I do not know what I will do with myself while waiting for the series last book. Hurry please.

Extremely descriptive style, like the bonding between Dragon and host. This series reminds me of the Tolkien stories. Waiting for the next book.
