"Sing and Dance in Dragon Land!" is a "Dragon Tales" (top-rated PBS series says the packaging --- well, hopefully, it's still rated high enough for them to consider making another season) DVD (also available on video) containing twenty great "Dragon Tunes" segments from the show. These are normal Dragon Tunes, meaning, as usual, you won't be getting any of the extended versions of the songs from the CD. This release is rather diminished by the fact that a lot of these songs were already included in the "Let's Make a Band" release, although not, of course, any of the songs from the third season / "More Dragon Tunes." There are also a lot of noteable omissions --- including the excellent songs "Cassie," "Try" and "Dance." The songs are accompanied by big, all-capital, bold, follow-along lyrics on screen, which change colors as the song hits each word, also sometimes accompanied by an exploding firework effect. Unfortunately, there's no way to turn this off if you want to. The packaging lists an estimated time of 39 minutes --- this is a lie, it's 32 minutes, including the opening theme (not accompanied by the big bold lettering lyrics) and the closing credits / theme (again, no on-screen lyrics.)

Viewing is full-screen only, although the sound and picture quality are very good. One other thing that can be said for this DVD is that, like most Sesame Workshop products, a portion of the proceeds go right back into their programming.

My daughter is almost 3 and really enjoys this video. I specifically bought it because it was all music. She never sits to watch a whole episode of Dragon Tales but always stops and listens to the songs in the middle of the episodes. She sings and dances along with the songs on this video!

My 3 year old picked this out from the library the other day, and it will definitely be a DVD that we buy. It has 20 Dragon Tales songs and it lasts for about 30 minutes. My daughter danced for the entire 30 minutes! She's never danced to the Wiggles, so I was pretty amazed. My one year old son enjoys listening to the music and clapping along as well.

All in all, I'd say if your child enjoys the "Dragon Tunes" from the show, then they will enjoy this.

I was a little disappointed initially as I expected a story, instead this dvd is full of songs. My daughter enjoys it and has picked up a song or two. Overall- good.

My slightly older preschoolers are really enjoying this; they love to dance and this dvd has some really nice songs for that. I'm not too sure how discerning they are; they will dance to Baby Mozart if nothing else is available! It is fun to listen to the occasional word of Spanish pop out too. We are very rural here and do not hear much variety in language.

I bought this for my 1 year old and he loves it. All of the songs/videos are very catchy and keep his attention quite well. He even tries to sing and dance with them. It's a bit shorter (just over 30 minutes) than I expected, though. They should have included more songs.

My two year old loves Dragon Tales and she LOVES this dvd. It is really good quality. The songs are great and upbeat. They are very positive. I love that the dvd just starts back over at the beginning instead of you having to restart it...that way if we have it on while we are playing, it just keeps going on in the background.

It was nice to get something Dragon Tales that was brand new. These dragons are hard to find.

We took a 4 hour road trip to Houston adn this CD was a life saver. My daughter was clapping and yelling and had a great time. It really kept her occupied and the music is great. Not your boring barney songs. These songs and rythm and a good beat.

We like The Dragon Tales...I was disappointed in this; there is no storyline that I thought would go along with the sing and dance part...guess I will know better next time. If I had known I would have bought one on the same as the cartoon as on television.
Just not what I thought it would be!!!
