4.0 out of 5 stars My Children Love this Tape - a review of Dragon Tales "We're Special", January 5, 2006
I don't get it. Dragon Tales is one of the shows my children are allowed to watch on a regular basis, and yet they prefer this tape to the actual show. Go figure.

In any case, there are 3 episodes on this tape and 2 songs. The "Editorial Reviews" does an okay job in describing the first show but misses on it's summary of the other 2 stories.

First story -- Zak and Wheezie find out that being separate is not all they thought it would be. They find instead that they work better as a team.

Second story -- Indeed, the crew end up walking (and sliding) to Wonder World -Wheezie has broken her wing-- but what they really discover is that the journey is sometimes more wondrous than the end goal. (They ride on a sea serpent and experience much more than if they had flown.) A sort of stop and smell the roses sort of tale.

Third story - Max is tired (again) of being too small. So much of what goes on in his world and in Dragon land just requires being taller. However, he finds out that being smaller *can* be an asset in some circumstances. In this case, he can help out a new friend by reaching her glasses (she is farsighted, not nearsighted) when no one else can.

Four Stars. Good, educational video that promotes team work, compassion (the children could have gone to Wonder World and left Zak and Wheezie behind), and helpfulness.

5.0 out of 5 stars The impact on my 2 year old!!, August 17, 2003

I don't favor for a child to sit infront of a t.v. all day. But for a few choice programs I found suitable for Evan were those on PBS. Dragon Tales shows fundamentals in understanding the difference in all those around us and the relationships between each other. Stories of conquering fear, dissapointment, discouragment and sharing and using your mind are explained quite clear in their programming. My son may only be 2 but he had grasped so much. I give Dragon Tales a 10!!!!!!!!!!
