The Red Dragon VT 2-23 SVC 100,000 BTU Weed Dragon Propane Vapor Torch Kit With Squeeze Valve is the perfect propane torch kit for home and garden use. We've regulated the flame and BTU down for homeowners who don't need the power of a farm torch and we've even assembled it. This torch kit is still plenty powerful for lots of tough jobs all year long and generates heat up to 2,000-degree F. The 100,000 BTU Weed Dragon quickly hooks up to any refillable propane tank (barbeque cylinders work great) and even comes with a hand-tighten tank fitting (you don't even need a wrench). Overall length from torch bell to back of handle is 27 1/2-inch. Used properly, the Weed Dragon is safe and easy to operate and is a great tool to reduce or eliminate herbicide use where children and pets could be exposed. Kit includes: 100,000 BTU Torch withplastic grip, 10-foot U.L. Listed LP Gas Hose, Hand Tighten Excess Flow P.O.L. Fitting, U.L. Listed Regulator, Squeeze Valve withAdjustable Pilot, Pilot Spark Lighter, and Pipe Thread Compound. The Weed Dragon is not just for weeding - hundreds of other uses year round: FLAME weeds in your yard, garden, concrete cracks, rock gardens, driveways and along fence lines. I have had my Weed Dragon for a couple of weeks. I've used it on a gravel driveway infested by a variety of tough weeds. In past years, weeds have covered half the driveway surface by mid-June. I have used the Weed Dragon on this driveway twice. Most of the unwanted weeds and grass on the driveway are dead. The few survivors will receive another treatment to kill them. Once the weeds are all gone, I will put fresh gravel on the driveway, confident that, if more weeds emerge, I can kill them quickly with the Weed Dragon. I have the model with the squeeze trigger, which works fine. I find that keeping the nozzle and flame about a foot above the weed tops works the best. One caution: keep a garden hose or fire extinguisher close by when using the Weed Dragon--grass, twigs and needles will catch fire if you're not careful. A general-purpose hand truck with pneumatic tires works well for moving the 20-pound LP canister around as I work with the tool. Overall, I am quite pleased with the Weed Dragon.

Definitely a therapeutic way to get those weeds! Works best on recently watered weeds...steam cooks them down into the root. It says you could thaw pipes with this thing; I'd be very careful trying that as you are very likely to create a steam bomb in your pipe with the heat this puts out. I have no idea what you'd use the bigger 500,000 model for...burning through railroad ties? By far, the best tool in the shed! Just don't have too much fun or you'll find you have no gas left for your steaks!

The weed dragon is amazing! It was simple to connect to my propane tank and very easy to use. I was able to take care of the weeds in my front yard in 20-30 minutes. (It's kind of a big yard.) I love that I don't need to use chemicals, or hire someone to do the job anymore. I'm not sure what my neighbors thought of me shooting flames across the ground, but I kept my hose handy in case of any mishaps. I used a wagon instead of hand truck to maneuver my propane tank around the yard. When you squeeze the valve, the sound of the flame burst is kind of loud. When you release it, it is quiet again. The only (slight) disappointment is that I won't get to use it again for awhile ... the weeds are all dead.
