5.0 out of 5 stars Dragon Warrior 3 Guide
This guide enables you to do everything perfectly in this game. It has picture clear quality maps and detailed walkthroughs. It tells you all the stats for every monster and boss in the game, and where to find them. Also, it has a checklist to show you where every tiny medal is in the game. When you collect all 100 tiny medals you will receive the ultimate weapon...

3.0 out of 5 stars Just a little incomplete.

When I ordered this guide I was expecting to find a detailed guide on every secret in the game from begining to end, however when it finally came I thought it was a little incomplete. The book is very good at what it does, it gives tremendous information about character classes changes, dungeon info (for the most part), and monster data. But there are a few things left out (I still havn't found the section on all the medal locations, maybe I'm missing it?), at some points in the game it says something like "good luck and enjoy the challenges of these dungeons" or "there are five more shards to find and here's a hint for one of them". I understand that this guide was written to preserve the storyline and surprise of the game, but it is a strategy guide... and I want it all. Overall the book is good, but could have been better. I found free walkthroughs on the interet that were more complete.

This guide is a must for all gamers, and you will definitely get lost without it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good start, but falls just short., February 16, 2002
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is really helpful if what you want is a desription of how to beat the personality system. It also has those oh-so-critical lists of moves, weapons, and items (very good ones too), and for the first half of the game it has detailed (but a bit small) maps of both the towns and dungeons. The last half though degrades to basicly a list of places to visit with little useful info. There's also no help in finding the tiny medals or hidden items. I would have liked more info on the monsters also. The info it does have seems to be based on battling a group of four of the same monsters, it isn't accurate when fighting individual or mixed groups of monsters. Still, I highly recommend using a book for this game and this is the only one, so it'll do.

3.0 out of 5 stars Where Are the Important Stuff?, December 7, 2001
By
This review is from: Dragon Warrior VII (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
Yes, this walkthrough will get you through some tough times in the game, yes it does provide a walkthrough for each part of the game, but there are several things missing.

1. It is missing a World Map! It is one of the most important parts!

2. No Tiny Medal locations. It would be nice to have them all logged.

3. Treasure Chests in towns are not covered unless they contain a important item.

4. Pots and Sacks are not listed with the items they hold for towns or dungeons.

I give it a 3 because it does give a detailed walkthough, but it is missing some extras we gamers like to have.

(REAL NAME)
how can they make a fine strategy guide as this and then leave out probably the most useful and important feature.. a complete map of the overworld!! the dungeon maps are good, in game maps, but the only overworld map included is the same as in the game's own manual.

3.0 out of 5 stars Where's Nintendo's official version when you need it?, December 18, 2001
By A Customer
Unfortunate for Prima to not get all the information about how far this remake of Dragon Warrior III goes. They didn't include the Grand Dragon's Temple maps at the end, nor did they list ALL the medals that are possible. The locations of weapons and items are vague and have to be searched throughout the guide. Finally, where is the list of TinyMedal locations?

I like the layout of Prima's guides, especially this one. They have actual screen shots which Nintendo's offical guides usually don't include.

4.0 out of 5 stars You will need this book if you get the game!, February 20, 2008

This book will come in very handy if you buy the game. The game takes between 100-250 hours to beat and is extremely difficult. Without the book it will probably take well over 500 hours to beat it, if you don't give up. My brother is hard-core gaming geek and has well over 200 RPG games. He has only needed a strategy guide and help 3 times and this was one of the games he needed it for. If you can beat the game without it, you are a genius.

It gives you walkthroughs and maps of most of the levels. It also has a guide in the back of all the monsters you will face and what they drop, etc. Weapons, armour, items, characters, etc. also have their own sections. The only thing I don't like and I really can't fault Prima for it is, is that it does not give "all" the info you need. For example, it tells you that there is a couple of bonus dungeons but, not how to get all the pieces to open them. This may seem small but, I tried for weeks to figure out how to open them. After 3 three weeks I finally found something on the internet how to open them. Another is tiny medals, there are tiny medals in this game to upgrade weapons. You do not really need them but I wanted to try to find all. The prima guide gives you the location for a lot of them but not all. You need to 100 to open the bonus dungeons and if you invest this much time into a game it will make your blood boil if you can't find them. Find that stuff at Dragon's Den on the internet. Other than these small things the guide gives easy explanations how to beat the game, for the most part. BUY IT!

The strategy guide for DWVII from Prima is basically perfect. It's walkthru is easy to follow and theres a very helpful index of equipment, spells, skills, items and monsters near the end of the guide. Very nice.

4.0 out of 5 stars They dropped the ball, March 30, 2002
This review is from: Dragon Warrior VII (Prima's Official Strategy Guide) (Paperback)
Excellent guide overall, but being an avid RPG player, I felt they left me hanging when they didn't give me the complete information on finding the final ? shards to open the bonus dungeons! Completing a game to me means being able to finish the available side quests also. So the game went back on the shelf never knowing what lurked behind those final two tablets.
