5.0 out of 5 stars Don't read this one 1st, I made that mistake
This book is extremely good, a must read. But, in response to some other reviews, Relkin's magic DOES make sense, read the rest of the series. And the "Grey Lady" is not in this book, she has retired (because of the stress from sending so many to their deaths in BattleDragon), it is Ribela of Defode Queen of Mice who is in it. Read more carefully,...

2.0 out of 5 stars A change of pace
Christopher Rowley changed the style and pace of the series with this book. Unlike the traditional dragon and boy fight together in the legions as they stave off an evil group of magicians, the plot for A Dragon at World's End is full of magical intrigues and elves who toy with the real world as they play what is to them a game. Rowley grabbed the "me too"...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, imaginative book!, May 11, 2000

This review is from: A Dragon at Worlds' End (Bazil Broketail) (Paperback)
This book had Everything! Some of the other reviewers thought it was like "Lost World". Actually, it was clearly inspired by "Tarzan The Terrible", the 8th book of the Tarzan Novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs.

I loved seeing the realms created by the minds of men. I loved how Bas became a general! (trust me, that's not a spoiler).

It got a little esoteric at the end, but TOTALLY fabulous book. It's rare that even really good books inspire my dreams as much as this one did.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the best in the series, November 4, 2000
This review is from: A Dragon at Worlds' End (Bazil Broketail) (Paperback)
this book, was a great continuation, of the previous book. the way rowley describes the people relkin find, it's as if you can see them in your head. it also reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Jurrasic Park. It has been a while since i last read the book, but i am starting the series over again, and i cant wait till i get to this book again. i do suggest you read it if you enjoyed the other books, cause in my opinion this is maybe the best book of all of them.

As a great fan of Science Fiction and Fantasy I have sampled some of the greatest works of leading authers and I must say that this book is a gem among it's kind. Never have I read a book more thrilling then this. You have to read this book if you enjoy the Dragons of Pern!

5.0 out of 5 stars YES!! I can enjoy reading., February 13, 1998

As a person that has not read a book in 20 plus years, this book hooked me. I picked it up in a used book store, and became a BAZIL fan before I was halfway thru the book. Now I have read all 5 of Bazil's and Relkin's adventures and number 6 was given to me for Valentines Day. Mr. Rowley writes a fine story. May the series keep going.A movie would not be to bad either.

I felt that the book was rather interesting. However, I enjoyed Battledragon more than this book. I will continue to read in the Bazil Broketail series.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!! Different and exciting!, November 1, 1997

This review is from: A Dragon at Worlds' End (Bazil Broketail) (Paperback)
Yet another hit among exited readers, that enjoy reading about the Dragons and dragonboys of the Maneri fighting 109. Even though this book only really talks about Bazil and Relkin as they slowly make their way through the lands of terror and encounter things that may even be feircer than Bazil Broketail in full battle armor with a newly edged and sharpend Ector in his hands. I would reccomend this anyway since it is about the only book without much refference to the other books (history). b

Unlike the traditional dragon and boy fight together in the legions as they stave off an evil group of magicians, the plot for A Dragon at World's End is full of magical intrigues and elves who toy with the real world as they play what is to them a game. Rowley grabbed the "me too" line of giving his main character magic when Relkin, the dragonboy of Bazil Broketail, discovers an ancient force under his control. Really, my favorite part of the book was the preview of the next at the end. Evidently Rowley agrees, because his next book promises to go back to the basic storyline again

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Mr. Rowley's best stuff..., July 16, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: A Dragon at Worlds' End (Bazil Broketail) (Paperback)
Once again we find our two intrepid heroes in all kinds of wonderful situations which they miraculously escape from. Not to give away the ending of the book or anything, but PLEASE! Relkin as a magical catalyst that brings down the civilization of the elves?!? The "Lost World" (!!!) setting is just a little too much. The loss of the Grey Witch knocks out a main plot line that had loads of potential! Folks, it's been done before, but not all in one book. What Mr. Rowley has done is taken "Jurassic Park" and "Lost World" and basically set Relkin and Bazil down in the middle of it with some corrupt, decadent, and (of course) ancient elves sprinkled in for good measure. Add a tribe of "tailed folk" in for taste and a fling for Relkin... The title of this book should have been "Bazil and Relkin meet Jurassic Park"
