5.0 out of 5 stars this is a pretty nice item esp for a pre teen
this is a nice kit in the form of a hard back book. when you open it up the left side has a plastic covering and within are several tubes of paint and brushes, eraser and a pencil. the right side contains a drawing/painting pad of paper and in front of that is the book itself which actually has the appearance of a small comic book. it has some pretty neat stuff to draw...

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible!
I'm a dragon art fan myself. I enjoyed the books. This isn't worth it. I bought it off the cheapiest seller new. It was still a dissapointment. I wasted my money. This wasn't a book! This is poor quality art supplies with 5 page tutorial! This isn't worth the paper or ink it's printed with. If you buy this then please expect dissapointment.

Don't buy...

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this!, August 19, 2009
This review is from: DragonArt Mythical Monsters: How to Draw and Paint More Fantastic Creatures (Hardcover)
I love all of the Dragonart how-to books. It not only gives you the basics, it gives you advanced ideas, and through out the entire thing you have comments to make it even more fun. Even if you don't use it to help you draw, its still good to just read through and enjoy the art and the humour packed in it.

Bought this for my niece and she absolutely loved it. The descriptions of the "mythical monsters" made her laugh and she's had a lot of fun practicing drawing each one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mythical Monster Drawing Made Easier!, August 28, 2010

This review is from: DragonArt Mythical Monsters: How to Draw and Paint More Fantastic Creatures (Hardcover)
If you're looking to draw mythical monsters but don't know how to do so, this book is for you! Where many 'how to draw' books can seem overwhelming to beginning artists or those looking to expand their drawing skills, 'Mythical Monsters' doesn't overwhelm. The purpose of the book is to show you how to draw a mythical monster using a step by step process beginning with a simple line and several circles and building up the design to its finished form. All of the demonstrations are presented in a fun, humorous manner with the aid of the book's 'guide' Dolosus (little dragon, lots of attitude). Besides the drawing demonstrations, the book also provides information on shading, coloring and what shapes lead to the best dragons (i.e. a triangular form leads to a more evil dragon). This book is definitely worth purchasing no matter what level of artistic skill one has.
