I LOVE THIS TAPE!,

This review is from: Dragonball Z, Vol. 18 - Captain Ginyu: Assault (Uncut) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I must say overall i was very impressed with this tape.Dragonball z is now going into high gear. Those of you who liked the original voice actors will be greatly diappointed with dragonball z here on in.I really enjoy the new music. It is much more in tune with the on screen action and atmosphere than the previous soundtrack. The animation quality has also taken a giant step forward.Take a look at the sequence where goku is powering up before a stunned captain ginyu.wow! And it ill get even better in upcoming volumes! To those of you who have seen the original japanese version you will find the us version insulting but most certainly enjoyable nonetheless. The best is yet to come.I promise you!!Hopefully dragonball gt will show up before long!Keep on buying these tapes!!You won't be sorry!

Suburb.Better voice actors than the ones we have in the UK.1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Times better music than ours. And good plot.I wouldn't call this unedited. Love the title of the episodes music and the music in the first scene. If you hated this think of us.We suffer with the worst possible episodes.Besides though you may think your episode are badly edited believe me.Spend one day in the UK and you'll laugh your heads off at us.

I am a big time Dargonball Z fan, and I find little disapointment as the serie develops. This volume was very gratifying, yet I was angered by the change of voice actors. I mean, the fights and and story was great, but the dialog was pitiful. You get used to most of the voices, but Captain Ginyu, Krillin, and Vegeta sound absolutly terrible. I recommend that all you dbz fans look this one up, but I am positive that the vioces will by a huge put-down.

I had no problem with the anime part of the video, it was spectacular! The problem was with the new voice actors . They sound off character and they DID edit the diologue(they took out all the profanity) but, otherwise a nice video. Funimation is a LEAST on the right track about this. This is a must have for all hard core dbz fans, but if not save yourself 17 bucks and wait for it to air on cartoon network on september 6,1999.

The Beginning.,
This review is from: Dragonball Z, Vol. 18 - Captain Ginyu: Assault (Uncut) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
These were the first episodes of Season 3 to be released in January of 2000. I remember buying this tape at the mall in 2000, I was in 5th grade. I turned it on and was like WOAH this is awesome! When I first heard Krillin's and Vegeta's voice, I thought they were kinda hokey; I got used to them. The best part is the music in my opinion. Alot of people give Bruce Faulconer (American DBZ composer) crap about his music, but I believe it fits perfectly well! The Japanese score was ok, but for the American audience, Faulconer's score is fantastic! Love how he used the "Ginyu Theme" and "Closing Credits" songs throughout the first episode. Maybe I love this tape so much because it reminds me of my childhoold for some reason..who knows? lol
I recommend it to everyone!

Okay!First of all I think this video has 3 great episodesSecond, the new voices aren't as a good as the first ones but if you live in the UK like me then you wil LOVE these voices. Are show is 10 times more edited than yours and our music is awful. On the point of music I love the music to this. These were some of the only episodes that you got that we also recieved. After the Trunks saga our show.Well it pretty much died.Anyway I love the music thats starts the actual episode plus the music in the episodes.Sounds unclear though.

Goku X 10!,

Well, Goku finally arrives on Namek, and his power is so great he trashes the Ginyu like they're nothing. It's pretty good, the action is interesting but not great, considering that Goku doesn't face anything worthy of him yet(meaning Freiza). I'd really only recommend this for serious collectors, because it's not a good video unless it's in a series. However, if you intend to get the second Ginyu tape and the beginning of the Freiza saga this is a great buy.

MY GOD... The only way this could be worse is if they were still painting over the blood. EVERYTHING bad from the first 2 seasons are still here. HORRIBLE voices, droning emotionless music, and (the worst thing of all) CHEESY DIALOG. I mean stuff like "I'm so strong because I eat healthy foods!" and "Well I hope you like my fist, because you're going to be eating it!" DO NOT buy this crap. If you need your DBZ fix, get the manga by Viz, it is uncut, faithfully translated, and just great.

The long wait is over and uncensored. I would have given this 5 stars but the acting is'nt all that great. I hope the new actors will settle into their roles and get better as the series continues. The new soundtrack takes some serious getting used to. If you have not seen the original japanese series then I highly recomend this one.
