it was really good but...
I really liked this tape, but it was not in its REAL form. I think that FUNimation needs to release the older episodes in uncut format so the hardcore DBZ fans(like myself) can see what its like behind the censors!!!

Nicely done animation
Dragon Ball Z has very good animation, however, its characters, known as 'Saiyans', are far too powerful and the story isn't the greatest. Good if you are young, just want to expand your anime collection, or don't really go for the story but the good artwork involved. Otherwise, I would reccomend something like 'Akira' or 'Fushigi Yuugi'.

When I first saw this episode,I freaked!When I first started watching DBZ,I didn't know about Goku's Saiyan heritage.And Raditz,man,I'd sure hate for him to be my brother!C'mon,kidnapping and threatening to kill his own nephew,what a creep!This was another of my fav movies.So get off your tails and go buy this movie.It's worth every penny!

Dragon Ball Z is one of best anime ever created and this video is where it all started. This video and it's battle is great, it's not the best in the DBZ series, but it is a taste of what will come. It's to bad we cant't get DBZ subtitled in the US because the US dub isin't even half as good as the original. However DBZ is still one of the best shows in America and you have to watch this video to know what I mean.

I like this movie, although I would have like it if it would have been like the frist one. The Arrival, is a good starter movie. The other are better. The story line was a little fast for me, and they did not spend as much time on the battle as they do in the others.

I think this beginng episode movie conversion rocks, because you can see it all and not wait for a to be continued thing. Plus the action in this is intense and Raditz is an awesome villain, if you like Dragon ball Z than you will definitley like this movie.

Dragon Ball Z: depends on your anime preference,

Some might say that Dragon Ball Z is the greatest anime of all time, but, if exsposed to other anime films, they would change their view. DBZ is good, but if you tend to prefer anime with serious plot, dark settings, and deep characters, click the back button.DBZ's plot evolves slower then a human, and you might tire quickly of it. Myself, I think it helps build suspense when things finally get rolling, and when things get going.. they really get going. I wouldn't reccomend this film for first time anime viewers, or anime fans over age 15.This is only the first episode, so if you have the time for DBZ's slow plot to finally get going, give it a shot.

I live in Canada and I have just started watching the show, personally, I would buy this video because it captures the whole element of DBZ and the begining of how it all started, Myself, I'm going to buy the whole collection
