Product Description

Platform: Xbox 360

Dragonball Z: Burst Limit is the first game of the Dragonball Z series to hit the Xbox 360 console. The game features detailed graphics and dramatic, seamless battles, expected from a next generation console. The plans are to have characters and movement reminiscent of the animation, and high-intensity battles.

During each battle, find conditions to create new dramatic scenes. After the battles, watch a unique story unfold each time you play. There is also a stronger element of offense and defense, due to added energy saving and fighting techniques. Features:
  • Online Feature - Competition grows with the ability to play online in both the co-op and vs. modes.
  • Unique DBZ Story -During each battle, find conditions to create new scenes and watch a unique story unfold at the end of each game.
  • Higher Quality Gaming - Experience visuals and movement reminiscent of the anime due to Z3 shading technology and detailed effects.
  • High Intensity battles - Increased speed of charge and release on the field, free movement around the field, and increased speed and power of attacks.
  • Energy - Use of special skills will no longer drain energy. The lower your energy, the stronger you get, making for a possible turnaround of the battle.
  • Fatal Blow - Each character in the game has their own "Fatal Blow". If the player successfully attacks his opponent, this would be a finishing move, but if not, it will put the player in the disadvantageous situation, and he must battle with no "Fatal Blow" for the rest of the battle.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is a very fun fighting game. Some of the battles are way crazy difficult on normal, imagine on the highest setting. Some of the battles are very one sided. The AI controls are questionable as it seams to be very weak and retarded in its logic one second then super ultra mega perfect the next. No offense is meant towards any person. I.E. Your opponent will be one punch away from defeat and you will have two full health bars, then the AI will unleash a flurry of combos leading to your defeat. Other times it wont attack when you are weak or your guard is down and just stand next you you blocking. There are some unexpected pieces in this game that are very enjoyable, and the cut scenes are skipable, but are enjoyable to watch. When you play, you always play as the winning side in the show, so whomever won that fight in the show, you will play as, good or bad guy. Your first time play through will be annoying after each win because of the unlockables, but that happened in previous DBZ games. The controls are easy, easy to be both a button masher and a button master, either way could win the fight. The graphics are great to watch, yet they take nothing away from the experience in the game. I highly recommend this game to any DBZ fan or any body that likes fighting games.

4.0 out of 5 stars I rate this a 4 because of these reasons September 9, 2009

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Hello everyone! The Graphics of this DBZ game for the 360 are awesome! I bought this a week after it came out and started playing. Now I just got back to playing it after taking a break. I am trying to get all the achievements and lets say its not easy to do! It is a challenging fighting game, but very fun. I don't normally like fighting games, but for this one I will make an exception, since it is based on my favorite show DBZ. Not only do the graphics rock, but I liked how they tried to keep to the script of the original show.

One flaw I do see in this game is the lack of destructible environments. In the other DBZ games you could destroy and change the environments around you just by smashing your opponent into an object such as a tree or a building. I also do not like the online play very much. As this being a xbox 360 game that had online capabilities, my expectations were very high to say the least. If you are looking at this game for an online multiplayer game do not get it because it is really laggy! I cannot level up at all due to the fact that everyone online is level 200,000+ and I get beaten every single time I enter a match.

Oh well that's my review. All in all I give it a 4/5 starts overall because of the graphics, storyline, and the fun that is packed into the game! :) Make sure you pre-order DBZ: Raging blast because it is going to top this game by a mile! :) Happy Playing :)

3.0 out of 5 stars What happened? May 31, 2009
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game really disappointed me. It honestly wasn't worth all the hype. I mean the new fighting system and whatnot is awesome, i love the graphics too. They are very reminiscent of the anime. This would have been the game to top them all but one thing, less unlockables and short story line. I mean Tenkaichu 2 and 3 were epic because they had intense battles that spanned all to the very last GT saga with SS4 Gogeta and Shenron. But this was really really disappointing.

All in all the gameplay is an awesome concept, but the game just really lacks the endless replay value and campaign length that previous DBZ games had. In the future I would have not paid full price, pick it up used for cheap because trust me I felt ripped off.

3.0 out of 5 stars not worth 100 bucks April 9, 2014

I have not bought this game, yet. But I know this is not worth buying for $100.00, when I can get it from gamestop for $15.00 to $20.00 bucks. I understand a person must make a profit, not if they sale it, WAAAY BEYOND its worth. AGAIN, its not worth buying.

It's a good game, however I would have appreciated if it had a Majin Buu Saga. I think that would have made the game 10 times better, instead of getting random characters at the end like Broly and Bardock.

The story mode would be impossible to understand without a background in the series. The amount of characters you have to choose from is pretty good, and the variation between those characters is great too.

The game's short coming are the controls. The learning curve is too steep, you could never take this game to a friend's and expect everyone to jump right in and have a feel for the game after a match or two. As opposed to games like Soul Caliber 4, and Mortal Kombat vs DCU where there is a certain pick up and play ability.

Button combos change depending on if you "transform" or activate your "aura spark", and it can really be cumbersome. I imagine the game play can be quit rewarding if you are willing to really practice, but i think there are more flushed out fighting games out there.

If you are not a fan of the series this game is a pass. I got it to my door for right around $20.00 and wouldn't pay a penny more. That said, I am a fan of the series, but am NOT really a huge fan of fighting games. So keep that in consideration when reading this review.

Go with a rent if you are on the fence, you can never go wrong with that!
