If you don't want to take your system apart, this is the way to go. Though if you do, the fans inside are easy to find a replacement for. You can even get higher flow fans and with a little whittling, make them fit just fine. Just don't go nuts with your power consumption.

Anyway, it snapped right in place and worked just fine. You might have to cut down the top of the housing if you're going to use a flip top screen.

No complains. But remember to turn it off when you turn your system off. It's not automatic.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great insurance policy, September 25, 2007

This little device is quite something. Although somewhat fragile if you're trying to detach it from the gamecube surface, it works like a charm. If you own a used gamecube, 9 times out of 10 the first part to fail will be the internal cooling. I have owned this product for about 6 months and my (used) gamecube has endured heavy usage for multiple hours at a time. I would buy this while it is still in stock. However, if you are considering buying a Wii, look instead to the Wii cooling fan. Having a gamecube fan for a gamecube one never uses is a waste.
My gamecube never overheats, and if you're looking at this product in the first place then you must be familiar with the screen that says "Please insert the gamecube disc." Yea, that dread naught of a warning. That has never happened once, and I owe it all to my little purple gamecube fan.
