Sweetly Genuine,
By A Customer
This review is from: Dragonfly (Audio CD)
Mae Moore is one of the great under appreciated artists of our time. Dragonfly and Bohemia are consistently great, with not a single track between them that fails to be beautiful.Simliar to Sarah McLaughlin and Milla's _Divine Comedy_. Gorgeous, touching and sweet. I first heard her on the radio driving across Saskatchewan, and I was so caputred, I bought this album as soon as I reached a town with a record store.

Mae's music maze,
By A Customer
This review is from: Dragonfly (Audio CD)
I'm agree with the other reviewer about M. Moore's under estimated situation. Of course, musically she's far from being an 'underrated' artist. On this record, entitled "Dragonfly", she invites the listener to share an experience, to explore her (and your) inner maze of beautifully coloured emotions. This is my favorite disc from that great canadian artist. The album is on a par with her new (1999) release, "Mae Moore" (issued in Canada under the Big Hip record label).

One of the best of the genre!,
This review is from: Dragonfly (Audio CD)
I came across a box of older CDs I'd overlooked in the course of transferring music to my new iPod. I am certain I bought "Dragonfly" in the late 1990s after hearing a single song in a bookstore (one of those times you go straight to the counter and ask 'who was that?'), but somehow forgot about the CD I ultimately purchased to get that one song (lol . . . this being before one could get the only song on a CD worth getting for your collection!). After listening to this CD for the first time in 12 years, I believe that song was "Watermark."
I'm a closet aficionado of great female voices working the light rock/pop/folk genre--early Cranberries, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, early Indigo Girls, Bonnie Raitt, the Corrs, Sarah Machlachan, Natalie Merchant, Aimee Mann and others. I played this CD all the way through looking for what I assumed would be the one or two tracks worth keeping. Every single track is terrific. There wasn't a single second-rate piece of 'filler.' I can not believe I haven't come across this voice since the late 1990s. If you are someone who likes this section of a first class music outlet, this is a CD you absolutely have to have. I am simply knocked out. And I'm off to see what else Mae Moore has done . . . . .
