5.0 out of 5 stars Just wow... a faithful adaptation., May 12, 2007

This graphic novel is beautifully done. The artists paint in pictures what Weis and Hickman did with words all those years ago. Devil's Due deserves a lot of credit for getting quality artists who have stayed true to the story of Dragonlance. I'm really getting stoked for the first movie, out in September.

3.0 out of 5 stars Brief Note, November 18, 2007
I bought this book because the Dragonlance Chronicles were the first fantasy books I read. I was quite young then so i loved them. so, now that the comic book is out, i thought "why not?". when i received it, my first thoughts were this could be quite an interesting experience. and it was. the artwork is very good quality, the story of course and the binding of the book is good (i am sort of a "keep your books in good condition freak"). i did find a problem though. in my opinion, the depiction of Raistlin and a couple of others isn't as good as i hoped. now dont get me wrong, its great but its not the way i thought of him. Raistlin is my favorite character in the books so that sort of disappointed me a bit. anyways, that told, i believe it is a must for any dragonlance fan and i recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Adaptation of the Original Novel, January 2, 2012
This review is from: Dragonlance - Chronicles Volume 2: Dragons Of Winter Night (Dragonlance Novel: Dragonlance Chronicles) (Hardcover)
In the "Annotated Chronicles," the two main shapers of the Dragonlance saga--Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman--note that "Dragons of Winter Night" is their favorite book in the trilogy. The team behind DDP's graphic novel adaptation of that book do a solid job in presenting the story in a new format.

DDP`s team does a much better job in "Dragons of Winter Night" than they did in "Dragons of Autumn Twilight." Andrew Dabb does a find job of putting the novel in a comic format. Some of his narrative techniques--while taken from the original novel--are very well done. Dabb does a commendable job in taking the book and putting it a graphic novel. Steve Kurth does a fine job with the penciling. The coloring is much better this time around than in "Autumn Night." While three people helped Nei Ruffino with the colors, the coloring is much more consistent here than in the earlier version.

DDP did a very fine job here--and fans of fantasy adventure and the original novels will not be disappointed by this faithful adaptation.
