Editorial Reviews

Who dares venture in front of the Dragons? Plenty of people, if the second series of Dragons' Den is anything to go by. And with the panel of business experts seemingly more stringent than ever before on who they give their money to, it once again makes for some compelling television. For the second season of Dragons' Den, the make up of the panel slightly changed. While Duncan Bannatyne, Doug Richard, Rachel Elnaugh and Peter Jones all returned, Simon Woodruffe parted company with the show. His place was taken by Theo Paphitis, who proves to be a more-than-compelling replacement. For Elnaugh and Richard, incidentally, it would be their last season. All six episodes of Dragons' Den's second series are presented in this DVD set, then, along with a special accompanying book. But it's the main feature itself that's the attraction, as a selection of interesting and downright bizarre ideas and creations are paraded in front of the panel. The process is simply compelling to watch, even if you can't help but curl up and cringe in sympathy when the participants' nerves get the better of them. What's particularly surprising, of course, is that as with the previously released debut season of Dragons' Den, there's so much rewatch value here. It's interesting to see, too, that many of the projects the Dragons chose to back still haven't progressed much further since the day they were pitched. Nonetheless, the programme remains fascinating television, and this is a very welcome DVD release.

5.0 out of 5 stars great show to learn about business, April 24, 2010
This review is from: Dragons Den: Complete BBC Series 2 (DVD)
I just moved back from England and used to watch this show all the time. It is very similar to the show here in the US called Shark Tank. I learned so much about business from watching this. If you're looking for a business loan or even a way to get new partners for music business, this is a great way to learn how to do it. It's also a lot of fun to see all the great inventions and businesses that are featured.
