FIVE STARS ~ CoffeeTime Romance,
By Dragonfly (Oklahoma) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dragon's Den (Paperback)
In DRAGON'S DEN, Terri Branson has brought us a dragon world for the science fiction aficionado. Her characters are in bright colors right before your eyes, and her world is so real you need a coat to cut the snowy cold. This story is out-of-this-world wonderful. It is hard to wait on pins and needles for the next exciting adventure. These dragons are truly a keeper. Solid characters with a unique blend of science and fantasy. The author creates a very real world, blending technology with mythology.

This review is from: Dragon's Den (Paperback)
I was disappointed by this book. The description from back of the book had potential, but it never lived up to my expectations.
I was expecting high fantasy instead I got a paper-thin mystery that could have easily been set in feudal Japan. The main characters (ninjas) were humans with gold skin and fangs whose names translated to `Sleeping Dragon', `Little Fire Dragon' and so on. How they were related to dragons was never really explained. The abilities of the main character, more alluded to than seen, were akin to what you would see in `Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' and the `Matrix'. (As a side note, how do two characters with half-inch fangs passionately kiss and not bite each other with their fangs) [...] this book is over priced. I was expecting a novel, not a novelette (It was 106 pages). There are some adult situations and language, so this book is not appropriate for young adults. |
