Oh, and you have to bend it to fit your ear but that shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't stay on my ear and I read that it needed to be adjusted with a pair of pliers to make it fit.

I am so disapointed in this product, and the idea that I will never be able to wear it.

I read the previous review and was disappointed and almost did not purchase the item. Intuition said to buy the Dragon and I am happy that I did! All I can say for the previous post is that, the person must have put the earring on wrong because I have not experienced any of the problems...

The dragon fits beautifully! Felt a little heavy at first, but after an hour or so it reminded me of having a pen behind my ear...not a big deal! I do have long hair and there is a possibility of entanglement, but I can deal with that! Love this dragon! Now I need to find one for my left ear!

Didn't fit perfectly to my ears, but thankfully you can easily manipulate with a pair of pliers so don't be discouraged once you get it by it not fitting. Just manipulate it to fit and you'll be all set.

I received this item as a Solstice gift -- a most perfect Solstice gift. I am in love with it. In light of that, there are a few things I'd like to mention, to make the experience better for others who purchase or receive this as a gift.

    1. You -will- need to have it shaped to your ear. I did it myself with no tools (just warming the metal slightly -- and I do mean slightly... like... maybe barely over 101 degrees using a heating pad -- and shaping it while it was placed appropriately on my ear), but depending on your comfort level, finding a jeweler who is accustomed to working with pewter would be another really good option.

    2. There is a learning curve to putting this piece of jewelry on, once it's properly sized. FIRST put the tail through the piercing hole in the lobe, and put the end on. THEN bring it up around the ear, and, using both hands, manipulate the earlobe to tuck through the upper body and neck of the dragon, letting the head rest so that it looks like the dragon is whispering in your ear. In this position, using this technique, if it has been properly shaped, it will be stable barring headstands, trying to sleep with it in, and getting smacked in the head -- even with my GLASSES on it's stable. (He even held on through Downward Facing Dog!). OH, and it works better if you pull the hair away from your ears, at least when putting it on -- after that, how shy your dragon is may determine whether or not you let your hair hang down over it. I cut out around my ears for mine -- he's clearly a 'showboat' *LOL*

    3. It takes about 3 days to get used to the weight and the pressure on the pressure points around the ear from the metal pressing/leaning on the ear.

I bought one of these from another vendor, and it looks super cool. I believe if you have pretty small ears, it will not fit right. I could not get it to sit on my ear, because the head did not wrap over the top of my ear like in the picture (it just sorta fell to the side, which hurts your ear!) My ears are a little over two inches in length. It was a shame, because it is a really cool thing.

I was at first nervous about making this purchase because I have small ears and quite a few piercings on both ears (only 3 though on the ear I wear this earring on). I decided to buy the item anyways and I'm so glad I did! I had to manipulate the earring to get it to fit my small ears, but it was not a problem. I just careful bent the earring and it fit. Now it rests perfectly on my ear. The back of the earring is positionable, so it shouldn't poke your neck. The earring also doesn't bother any of my other earrings (posts), which was a concern for me since I just got one recently pierced so I couldn't remove it. Overall, I'm glad I purchased this item and I don't regret my decision. It really is a work of art.

Well, the people who said the dragon did not fit right out of the bag were correct - it does take some adjustment. I was expecting that. I worked carefully for about 10 minutes with a pair of needle nose pliers, trying the earring on after each adjustment until it fit my small-ish ear perfectly. For me, the head comes down further than on the model, "wrapping" more. That being said, the time and money spent were definitely worth it!! It's such a unique piece, and once you have the fit adjusted and have worn it for a couple of minutes, you forget it's even there - quite comfortable, really. The tail does NOT poke your neck, it is completely adjustable (rotates 360 degrees like any other post earring backing). I love it and I'm really happy I bought it.

I was skeptical at first after reading reviews, it seems that everyone had problems with the fit. I have very small ears and was concerned that I wouldn't be able to wear it. However, after bending it a bit with pliers, it fits perfectly and looks really awesome. It looks exactly like the picture, and is very edgy to wear. I recommend this, definitely worth the money!

I saw this and could not wait to get it. When it arrived I ripped the package open and immediately tried to wear it. Sadly, what the pic doesn't show you is that due to the design, the tail hits your neck and contorts your ear. It also will not stay on well at all. I have other Alchemy Gothic items that I adore and that is why I was comfortable ordering from them. However, while the item is gorgeous, I have an expensive piece of jewelry that will lay in my box and never be used because of poor designing. The seller is fantastic so I won't return it as it isn't his fault, it is Alchemy Gothic, for their flawed design, albeit good idea.
