4.0 out of 5 stars The Dragons of Berk Are Back! July 24, 2013
Format:DVD
Dragons: Riders of Berk Part 2 picks up following the events of the feature film How to Train Your Dragon (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Dragon Double Pack) [Blu-ray] and the holiday special DreamWorks Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury / Book of Dragons Double Pack (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Online Video Game). Luckily many of the original voice cast from the feature film return to voice their characters in this Cartoon Network TV Series. The few voices that had to be recast are masterfully done to where they sound very much like their feature film counterparts. Beyond the voice acting, the stories & animation present in this 1st season are top-notch and are a great way to pass the time until the 2nd feature film due out in 2014. One touch I like is how Hiccup narrates the beginning & end of the episodes as he did in the original film.

Part 2 consists of 2 discs with the remaining 9 episodes of season 1; each episode running approximately 22 1/2 minutes. Each disc features a "play all" function for the episodes. The dvd case comes with a slipcover and has two slips inside: one is a code for the Ultimate Battle Pack to be used in the online/mobile game School of Dragons (limited time offer); the other is a coupon good for $3 off on a new Defenders of Berk Action Dragon Toy (coupon valid from 7/30/13 to 1/31/14). The first 11 episodes of season 1 can be found on Dragons: Riders of Berk - Part 1

I personally am very pleased with the video & audio presentation of the episodes.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than worth the price (continued) August 21, 2013

An excellent movie followed, surprisingly, by an exellent TV series. I hope the series continues. Not only have my grandkids enjoyed watching the episodes, but I found I could watch along with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hey ... it is more of the Dragons! August 29, 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I am a full grown adult that absolutely loves this story line. The TV show does not have the quality of animation of the movie but who would expect it to. However, the humor is good as ever and just plain fun to watch. Well worth the price.

My kids have watched all these episodes at least 4 times and we've only had the disks a month. I have even watched all episodes and some twice.

Definitely recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun January 5, 2014
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
This is a fun series. I loved "How to Train Your Dragon" and am pleased to see this series showing how the people of Berk adjust to life with dragons and adds more personality and background to all the main characters. The animation and technical aspect is below that of the movie, but above "Saturday Cartoon" grade. The follow-on series will likely be just as enjoyable and I presume all this will serve to lead up to the movie sequel, coming out in June 2014.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! January 2, 2014
By Heather
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
My son and I love How To Train Your Dragon, so when I saw this on Amazon, I knew I had to order it. Although I ordered both Part 1 and 2 at the same time, 2 came in first, however, we were none the wiser. These episodes are great! The character voices seem the same and the quality of animation is the same. We look forward to part 1 coming in...and part 3, 4 ....

5.0 out of 5 stars Super fun series September 20, 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I would be wary of my toddlers watching it, even though it is a cartoon, because many of the scenes are intense. The story is fun, though, if you like How to Train Your Dragon.

This series is based more on the books.

FUN!
