The complete selection would not have been mine, but the choices are good and the analysis of each play is very good. Thanks for a good job!!!!

This is a helpful book for two reasons. First, without actually having to see most ofthese plays, you can sound knowledgeable about them. This is especially important if, like me, you play in trivia games frequently. Second, several in here sound intriguing enough to see, which I would not have known had I not read the book. Of course, among the ones I did see, there is the opportunity -- as with any list -- to second-guess.

I don't enjoy reading plays as much as I do novels so my knowledge of the drama canon is a little less thorough, but this overview of the top 100 plays is enjoyable and interesting. As an added bonus I let my high school drama students look at the list an encourage them to read as many as possible.
