When Drama Knocks, Are You Gonna Answer?

Lonnie, a strong, independent, career-minded sista isn't one for drama or unnecessary bull. In fact, she's not even sure if having a man in her life is worth the trouble it can cause. However, when she meets John, everything changes, and her comfortable life as a single career woman goes flying out the window. She's in love, and things couldn't be better. Then all hell breaks loose.

The man who seemed like her dream come true soon becomes the nightmare she can't wake up from. John's sex-capades with the hood rat of the month soon turn from casual to serious, and Lonnie kicks him to the curb to refocus on herself and her career.

But drama rears its ugly head yet again when it shows up at her job. Lonnie goes from the put-together woman in charge to a petty, dramatic diva, and soon, she doesn't recognize herself. Will she be able to pull it together before she loses everything, or has she been marked with the curse of Drama With a Capital D?

4.0 out of 5 stars Baby Mamma Drama Overload, October 4, 2010
By
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
Baby Mamma drama takes on a new meaning in Drama With A Capital D by Denise Coleman. Lonnie is business-minded and a strong woman who takes no stuff from anyone. She is in a loving relationship, or so she thought, until all hell breaks loose. Lonnie finds out that the love of her life, John, has a child with another woman who loves to create problems.

After dealing with the nonsense, Lonnie calls it quits so that she can move on to take care of herself and her career. Whew! Lonnie thinks it is all over but she gets a new surprise at work and hell starts all over again. Will Lonnie see light at the end of her turmoil of terror?

Lonnie then meets Malik and believes things are looking up for her. Malik is everything she wants in a man. However, Lonnie's experiences filtered unwanted emotions that make her believe he is too good to be true. Could her fears be justified?

Drama With A Capital D is an entertaining story of women and their drama. The patience of the main character is tested repeatedly in ways that are not necessary. The book will keep those readers interested in high levels of drama happy. The twist in the story was not expected bringing more flare to the rest of the book. Even though there were some grammatical errors, the author's message came through loud and clear. I would recommend this book to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!, September 9, 2010
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
Drama with a capital D will keep your belly busting and guessing about what the characters will do next. The main character Lonnie, is a tough talking and tough acting woman who doesn't take crap off of anyone. When her man cheats and produces a child, the drama that comes next keeps you glued to the pages. I couldn't put it down!

Although this is her first novel, the author has a great new style and voice. I anticipate that she has a great future in books.

5.0 out of 5 stars What does your Mirror reflect?, August 17, 2010
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
Lonnie Devlin, is tough! Actually the whole family is tough you mess with one you mess with them all. Lena, Lonnie and Tank are brothers and sisters and they truly believe in all for one and one for all. When Lonnie finds out her man of a few years John has been cheating on her and has the girl pregnant she snaps! Not being able to breathe or think clear she is in so much pain from being cheated on Lonnie does what she knows how to do best, call the gang and lets go kick some a**. Considering the girl is pregnant she cant whoop her just yet, so her and her brother Tank who got his name from his size both give John an a** kicking he will always remember.

Dealing with this news and trying to decide if she should stay with John Lonnie and Johns soon to be baby's mom Cherie and her sister Deja have some words and boy oh boy she cant wait until Cherie has that kid cause its on!

After a few months of battling Lonnie cant take it any more, she lets John go and decides to work on herself in the process she learns that life is really simple what you put out you get back and you cant blame your unhappiness on anyone because they are not here to make you happy. You have to learn that by looking in the mirror owning up to your mess you either keep it moving or you're stuck it's your choice.

I must say I was looking for anything in this story to complain about and couldn't. The fact that the author is my big sister I wanted to be as fair to her as I am to any other author and if your book needs help I want to tell you the truth. I must say I was surprised, I read the book looking for something to be left out or not make sense or anything. I AM HAPPY TO SAY IT WAS A GREAT READ! An author once told me when the character drives you crazy then I've done my job, and I believe my sister has done her job and what she set out to do. Could there have been a few more things added sure could there have been some things taking out sure, but it all balanced out and was a very good read. So proud of you Denise Renee.
