4.0 out of 5 stars Baby Mamma Drama Overload, October 4, 2010
By
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
Baby Mamma drama takes on a new meaning in Drama With A Capital D by Denise Coleman. Lonnie is business-minded and a strong woman who takes no stuff from anyone. She is in a loving relationship, or so she thought, until all hell breaks loose. Lonnie finds out that the love of her life, John, has a child with another woman who loves to create problems.

After dealing with the nonsense, Lonnie calls it quits so that she can move on to take care of herself and her career. Whew! Lonnie thinks it is all over but she gets a new surprise at work and hell starts all over again. Will Lonnie see light at the end of her turmoil of terror?

Lonnie then meets Malik and believes things are looking up for her. Malik is everything she wants in a man. However, Lonnie's experiences filtered unwanted emotions that make her believe he is too good to be true. Could her fears be justified?

Drama With A Capital D is an entertaining story of women and their drama. The patience of the main character is tested repeatedly in ways that are not necessary. The book will keep those readers interested in high levels of drama happy. The twist in the story was not expected bringing more flare to the rest of the book. Even though there were some grammatical errors, the author's message came through loud and clear. I would recommend this book to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!, September 9, 2010
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
Drama with a capital D will keep your belly busting and guessing about what the characters will do next. The main character Lonnie, is a tough talking and tough acting woman who doesn't take crap off of anyone. When her man cheats and produces a child, the drama that comes next keeps you glued to the pages. I couldn't put it down!

Although this is her first novel, the author has a great new style and voice. I anticipate that she has a great future in books.

5.0 out of 5 stars What does your Mirror reflect?, August 17, 2010
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
Lonnie Devlin, is tough! Actually the whole family is tough you mess with one you mess with them all. Lena, Lonnie and Tank are brothers and sisters and they truly believe in all for one and one for all. When Lonnie finds out her man of a few years John has been cheating on her and has the girl pregnant she snaps! Not being able to breathe or think clear she is in so much pain from being cheated on Lonnie does what she knows how to do best, call the gang and lets go kick some a**. Considering the girl is pregnant she cant whoop her just yet, so her and her brother Tank who got his name from his size both give John an a** kicking he will always remember.

Dealing with this news and trying to decide if she should stay with John Lonnie and Johns soon to be baby's mom Cherie and her sister Deja have some words and boy oh boy she cant wait until Cherie has that kid cause its on!

After a few months of battling Lonnie cant take it any more, she lets John go and decides to work on herself in the process she learns that life is really simple what you put out you get back and you cant blame your unhappiness on anyone because they are not here to make you happy. You have to learn that by looking in the mirror owning up to your mess you either keep it moving or you're stuck it's your choice.

I must say I was looking for anything in this story to complain about and couldn't. The fact that the author is my big sister I wanted to be as fair to her as I am to any other author and if your book needs help I want to tell you the truth. I must say I was surprised, I read the book looking for something to be left out or not make sense or anything. I AM HAPPY TO SAY IT WAS A GREAT READ! An author once told me when the character drives you crazy then I've done my job, and I believe my sister has done her job and what she set out to do. Could there have been a few more things added sure could there have been some things taking out sure, but it all balanced out and was a very good read. So proud of you Denise Renee.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable, December 12, 2010
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
Lonelle Devlin a.k.a Lonnie is a very strong woman that was raised along with her sister Lena and younger brother Jerry. Together the three siblings are unstoppable, always having each others backs. Lonnie discovers that her unfaithful boyfriend, John, is cheating on her. Lonnie forgives John, despite his indiscretions, to later discover that he is a true DOG. She ends up developing a physical attraction for a gentleman, Malik, whom she senses is a decent man and considers developing a new relationship. John realizes the error in his ways and discovers that Lonnie is the woman for him despite his actions in the past. And so the drama begins....

"Drama with a Capital D" by Denise Coleman is an exciting and stunning novel! I would recommend this novel to all readers that love a little drama in their life.

I really enjoyed this book it was funny with a serious side, it includes stalking, beat downs, relationship issues we face every day, and it had romance all combined in one. My kind of book lots of drama. I won't get into the story line because the previous reviewers said it all, however I will say don't pass on this book it is good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Flight or Fight!!!!, September 21, 2010
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
When drama comes knocking at her door Lonelle Devlin aka Lonnie has two options; flight or fight and she almost always chooses the latter. As the middle child growing up along side of her take no crap older sister Lena and her little brother Jerry, known as Tank because of his intimidating stature, Lonnie came by her aggressive nature naturally. But of the three siblings Lonnie is the most sensitive and more prone to act out whenever she's hurt. Her siblings also jump at the chance to lash out at anyone who attempts to hurt Lonnie.

At the onset of the book the person to feel the wrath of the Devlin siblings is John Lonnie's boyfriend. When John is busted creeping with the town skank the drama is plentiful as Lonnie attempts to eradicate John from her life. John realizing a little too late the good woman he had in Lonnie and is willing to do anything to win her back. But the ramifications of John's transgressions are far reaching and when the drama reaches all the way to Lonnie's place of employment, the book lives up to its title and really becomes Drama With A Capital D. Lonnie has no problems getting her hands dirty and going tit-for-tat with her nemesis.

Author Denise Coleman provides a thoroughly entertaining read while exposing how easily it is for a person to get further entangled into the same drama that they are so desperately trying to avoid. The characters within the novel weren't all stereotypical and the ones who weren't experienced just as much growth as the characters that were. All of which helped to emphasize the morale of the novel; that the way in which people deal with complicated situations directly affects the amount of complications that are added to their lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drama with a Capital D, August 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
Drama with a Capital D by Denise Coleman is one of the best books I've read in a long time. The author puts a new spin on the troubles between men and women. The main charachter, Lonnie finds herself in a bad situation with her man but instead of removing herself, she stays. Hughe mistake! The drama that ensues promts her to behave in ways that prevent her from becoming the woman she wants to be. Fortunatley she pulls it together before its too late.

The author takes us on Lonnie's journey with a great deal of humor. I found myself frustrated with Lonnie one moment & laughing out loud at her the next. What a fresh new voice and style Denise Coleman brings to the literary world. I can't wait to read more from her in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars So Much Drama, December 27, 2010
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
Lonnie Devlin is very comfortable and content with her life. She has much love for her husband John and her job, it couldn't get any better. Out of the blue her world is turned upside down, inside out when she confronts her husband John and the other woman Cherie. Back and forth with all the drama and rigger ma roe, Lonnie is sick and tired of being sick and tired of all what has taken place and refuses to go any further and calls it quits.

Divorces are not easy to bounce back from, but Lonnie is staying focus and placing all her energy into her job. She is relieved that the drama has subsided, until little incidences and occurrences starts happening at work. Lonnie has reached her wits end and plans to nip it in the bud once and for all.

Drama with a Capital D is full of drama for your momma right from the very first page. This book is definitely an attention getter. It makes me wonder, can this really happen but then I realize that nowadays anything is possible. Enjoyable read, the storyline was great and realistic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very realistic...a must read!, December 7, 2010
This review is from: Drama With a Capital D (Paperback)
What do you do when drama keeps staring you in the face? No matter how you try to avoid, diffuse, or separate yourself from the situation, you find yourself always in the middle of some type of confusion and chaos.

Meet Lonnie, a headstrong, independent woman who has herself together...or so it appears. Lonnie has been involved in a serious but tumultuous relationship with John. She's grown tired of the games and the foolishness, and this last stunt that John has seemed to get himself involved in results in life-altering changes to both of their lives. Lonnie must make a change for the better and put the negativity in the past, but no one said that change is easy, especially with her job and life in jeopardy. But will change come too late? Will Lonnie be able to look within herself and realize she is the only one that can control her own destiny and no anyone else?

John's life was in shambles. He had a wonderful woman to call his own, but temptation and lust got the best of him and now his sidepiece is pregnant. John knows he has a good woman with Lonnie, but things become difficult when his baby mama Cherie is always behind some sort of drama. Trying to do right becomes more difficult, and a crazy baby mama makes life a living hell. Cherie is determined to cause problems, and when Cherie ends up working with Lonnie, things go from bad to worse. Will John be able to salvage his relationship with Lonnie and still be able to be there for his son without difficulty from Cherie?

Drama with A Capital D by Denise Coleman is a must read. Ms. Coleman's book is very realistic, and I believe that many people can relate to this storyline. This is a book about making changes, even when it is difficult and may cause hurt and pain. Ms.Coleman touched on a lot of relevant subjects. But most importantly, she showed there is light at the end of the tunnel. I highly recommend Drama with A Capital D.
