4.0 out of 5 stars WENDY AND RITZ.....WHO IS WHO?!?
"Queen Of All Media" Wendy Williams ventures into the world of fiction in the first of what will apparently be a series of novels centering around shock-jock diva Ritz Harper. With a radio career that has been literally set ablaze by exposing the secrets of a huge TV personality, Ritz now has the most coveted time slot at New York's premiere radio station, WHOT. Ritz...

I would not recommend purchasing or borrowing this book.

It was one of the worst books that I have ever read. The character is so superficial.

This book took 1 week..and it was a painful process.

This review is from: Drama Is Her Middle Name: The Ritz Harper Chronicles Vol. 1 (Paperback)
Ritz has discovered that gossip and exposure is her niche; and she has become known for outing rap stars, athletes, and other entertainment personalities. With a huge following that either love her or hate her (but you HAVE to listen!), Ritz recognizes that there is a darkness to her diva-like success....many in the entertainment world do not subscribe to the notion that any publicity is good publicity....and as a result are unforgiving. Amidst many of the lives that she leaves in a shambles, a few have made it their business to exact revenge....and when she is shot on Park Avenue and left for dead, it is quite possibly the biggest whodunit to hit radio in years. A true pageturner, with a cliffhanger of an ending.

2.0 out of 5 stars Save your money, August 7, 2006

If you must read this book because you're curious or a die-hard Wendy Williams fan, borrow a friends. But be warned: this is not a great read. It is poorly edited (I am not an editor but I can recognize redundancies and other errors when I see them in print), and with Karen Hunter at the helm, I expected better. There are plots that go no where and characters that are introduced haphazardly. This book has the feel of something that was rushed in order to capitalize off the success of Ms. William's previous best sellers, as well as lead to a sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Myrah's thoughts, November 23, 2006
This review is from: Drama Is Her Middle Name: The Ritz Harper Chronicles Vol. 1 (Paperback)
The book was good but I was under the impression that it was about her life story. But I think she did a good job and I would consider buying more of Wendy Williams/Ritz Harper books.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Must For any Wendy-nista, But Buyer Beware, September 27, 2006
This review is from: Drama Is Her Middle Name: The Ritz Harper Chronicles Vol. 1 (Paperback)
I love-hate Wendy. I think she is the devil herself but I can't NOT listen. So I bought all her books. She should stick to chat, though. She is not a very good story teller. I hope Karen Hunter does better on the second book. I found it insipid, and some parts simply not very plausible. It seemed as if it was rushed to print and that care was not taken in the writing.

Shock jock Ritz Harper isn't someone you want to mess with. Readers are given a glimpse into Ritz's past, so when it comes to her present day attitude, it's easy to see why she is the way she is. Someone doesn't like the dirt she dishes and she finds herself in a life-threatening situation. For more, you'll have to read the book. For those of you who like drama, drama and more drama, this is one book you don't want to miss out on. Only complaint I have is I have to wait for the next book to find out what happens next. Very good quick read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Bottoms Up!, July 1, 2006
This review is from: Drama Is Her Middle Name: The Ritz Harper Chronicles Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This book has "great summer read" written all over it.

It's a lot of fun. Get it!

The plot has a hundred twists and turns, and the characters are smarmy, nice, or a combination of both. And they all have one thing in common: EVERYBODY has a secret!

Take this book to the beach or to the back porch while lazing in the summer sun.

And don't forget to re-apply the sunscreen, or flip the burgers, while you're reading it. It is a real page-turner, guaranteed to distract!

Like Sly Stone so long ago, Karen and Wendy have given us a little "Hot Fun in the Summer Time." That's cool. Check it out!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read!, June 26, 2006
This review is from: Drama Is Her Middle Name: The Ritz Harper Chronicles Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This was fast-paced and fun. I loved the characters (actually, not all of them are likeable but that's part of the fun). I can't wait for the next one! Who shot Ritz?!

4.0 out of 5 stars What a great quick read!!!, June 26, 2006
This review is from: Drama Is Her Middle Name: The Ritz Harper Chronicles Vol. 1 (Paperback)
I started on this book Saturday morning and was done by Sunday afternoon!!! I was so intrigued by the similaties b/w Ritz Harper and Wendy Williams. Clearly, the book is not so loosely based on Wendy and her career as the Queen of Radio so it made it much more fun and exciting to read and get to know Wendy/Ritz better with every turn of the page!! I cannot wait until the next book of the Ritz Harper Chronicles hits the shelves!!!! Keep up the good work, Wendy!
